KYB use to be too stiff in a way that actually reduced traction. These shocks are quite the opposite in that they ride great and promote good vehicle stability.
-
The parts were for my son's Jeep and they work fine
-
Good fit on my truck. Hope they hold out better then the Gabriels
-
Easy install and they work well. Great improvement on the ride.
-
These shocks are way better than I was expecting and a snap to install shipping was fast and would recommend
-
These are great shocks, only problem is the picture looks like the rears and that's what I thought I was buying. Didn't need fronts as of yet but I'm sticking them on there anyway I'm thinking I'll be glad I did
-
-
Very satisfied with these. Notable improvement in ride quality and handling.
-
First thing first, you will be getting a black colored shock, not a grey one. I was hoping for a grey colored one as shown in picture.Enough nitpicking, this went on a 2004 Mazda 6s rear. Replaced 10 year old stock shocks with this. So far driving through hills and bumps and these shocks absorb the rear end of the car very well. There is nothing difficult or missing with this shocks. Since KYB was the OEM supplier of the original shocks, these are essentially OEM replacement. So far after a few months no leaks and still absorbing shocks. Can't go wrong with these if you are looking to restore your OEM performance.
-
I've used KYB's for years and every time the car's ride and handling is better than I expected. They got it down for all size cars.
-
along with new new springs, the saggy ass on my 94 4runner is now gone. loogs and feels good. now to see how long i can abuse them for
-
Work like a charm in 2001 Passat V6
-
So far so good, installation is very easy, no need for a mechanic to do this work, this is a diy, they try to charge 300 to change both rear shock and i said no thanks, now i just bought 2 for 66.00 and ill change it mmyseft.Right now the shock seen to work fine, i will have to see how good is going to be after a month
-
Replaced original shocks on my wife's 2004 Toyota Sienna @ 181k miles with these KYB Excel-G. I am very impressed and pleased with these KYB how they have improved the handling and ride performance of the vehicle. I had installed these a few weeks before our trip to Pismo Beach and the drive seemed as if we were "floating" on clouds.Pros:-LOW Price-Easy to install-Exact fitCons:-NONE to mention at the moment!
-
I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra and these definitely firmed up the ride in an awesome way. The way it handles is much better than the originals.
-
good easy install great ride
-
Excellent products would buy again
-
Only reason this isn't rated 5 stars is because its hard to "love" car parts. Exactly as described, easy order, quick delivery. Includes the needed hardward for installation. No mods required.
-
-
Purchased these for my 2002 Toyota Tacoma for less than $60 for the pair. My local Midas shop quoted me $275 for rear shock replaacement! Installation was simple and took less than 1/2 hour.
-
Great ride quality. I put them on a 2005 Sierra 1500 SLT Z71. The ride quality is slightly below OEM, but not enough to matter (for the different youll pay for AC Delco).
-
I replaced the shocks on my 1994 corvette, these brought the car back to riding like a corvette plus the rear of the car don't sag no more, great shocks
-
I installed these onto my 91 Mustang GT convertible today. The ride before I put these on was super stiff to the point where hitting bumps would be bone jarring. I found out that it had the old stock shocks on there after 135k miles. I installed these KYB on there today and the ride is completely restored. I couldn't be happier.
-
Replaced my stock shock on the old 86 4Runner with the KYB heavy duty, I felt the difference immediately. A Slightly firm on the highway but off-road these stocks are amazing. Would recommend to another trail rider or weekend warrior.
-
Huge difference in handling compared to what was on truck.
-
i drive 500kms + a day in the country going over horribe back roads, i fly over bumps left right and center. KYB gas a just shocks hold up the best over other brands. Ac delco, monroe and gabrial i had bad experiance with. KYB for the win
-
Fit great, no issues whatsoever. Improvement over the OEM shocks with 224,000 miles on them. Replaced on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classis. Hardware included and fast shipping.
-
Just installed them. they fit my Passat 2003 perfectly and work great.
-
-
Thes shocks are a awesome wa better ride than stock. Highlyrics recommend for heavy ride. And ofedex road.
-
These work great on my '97 GMC Savana 3500. The van rides better than it did new.
-
Very good product, great price. Easy to install.
-
These made a world of difference on my 1983 Toyota 2wd Pickup. The photo shows them to be white, but they are silver.
-
-
Gave my 69 Charger an awesome ride .Worth the money.
-
great fit, came with extra hardware, ordered two and they don't match however. same shock just different colors. fast shipping
-
Good product would buy again
-
Great shock easy to install, if you remember that they are under pressure. Best to atttached the top then when you are ready to attacthe bottom run a large screwdriver though the mounting hole of the shock an into the bolt hole of the vehicle mount, cut the shipping strap and push the shock into place, done. WAS TO BE FREE SHIPPING , BUT AutoPartsWAY CHARGE ME !!!
-
Good deal for quality made shocks.
-
The shocks themselves seem great-- improved ride and much firmer than the OEM shocks on my '02 Tacoma, which'd never been changed.Only complaint is that the shocks didn't come compressed with a band around them, requiring that I come up with some sort of scheme to hold them compressed while I installed them. I tied a butterfly knot in a 3/8" or so rope, compressed the shocks by pressing down on them, and then pinched the rope together with two fingers to keep the shock from expanding. This approach requires determination and patience, the price for which is one star off the rating.Overall, though, except for this installation glitch, which admittedly might have just been the pair I received (open box returns??), I think the shocks were a great improvement.I used the zip ties that came with them to secure the rubber protective boot. Hope that was correct as there were no instructions on the box or within it.
-
Great product.... World of difference in my 97 Nissan pickup.
-
Original mounting bolts did not fit through the shocks.
-
EXCELLENT ! HAVE BEEN ON MY 1966 CHEVELLE SS454 FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND FOR THE PRICE ARE THE BEST SHOCKS PERIOD! ...SMOOTH RIDE ON LOCAL ROADS OR THE HIGHWAY! HAVE APX 4 THOUSAND MILES ON THEM.
-
I work in auto parts and consistently see people buying cheap shocks and wondering why they end up replacing them annually. KYB makes anything but cheap when it comes to shocks and the Gas-a-just is a very good shock. My 99 Explorer had 150k miles on its shocks (I have had the truck for 5,000 miles) and I could tell it was time to replace them. I always knew my shocks were bad but i didn't realize how bad until i put the KYB's on all four corners. It made a huge difference. As for longevity, I only have about 2 days on them, however I have hopes they will last at least 50,000 miles.
-
awesome shocks, many say they are too soft, i find them pretty firm. put them in a '72 el camino thats been dropped 1 1/2"not a race/track quality ride but for cruising around town they are the bomb, especially for $20
-
I have been using KYB products since the late '70s. I have never had any complaint. In fact, all their suspension products work wonderfully! These shocks are no exception. I installed them on a 2002 Ford Ranger 4WD. I wanted to tow a two horse trailer. My Hellig booster springs simply overpowered the old Ford shocks. Not these, they work great! The trailer and truck now feel totally stable.
-
Great oem replacement, quiet and stronger than stock, used on nissan hardbody pickup. 2 years ago, no issues, still working great.
-
The exact part at about 1/2 the list price.
-
I put these on my 98 f150 and they greatly improved the way the truck handles in turns and over defects in the road . a bit firm but shouldnt a truck have a firm ride . anyway i would definately make this purchase again .
-
Bought these for 2 silverados and love them. I recommend. They are stiff at first but soften up some after break in. These soak up bumps well. One of the trucks I put them on had 20's 275 55 20 and the other had stock 16's. Both drive 100% better with them. And while towing, they absorb very good. These are a must for your SUV or truck
-
Great shock for the price. Granted probably no the best overall but can't go wrong in this price range. Made a world of difference in ride quality and ability to load truck. I put these on my 96 mazda b2300 and have driven for a while on them already.
-
Great shock absorber. Improved the ride and handling of my old classic car
-
I like them but have nothing to compare them to. I installed these on my 1997 Ford F150 XLT 5.4l (replaced all 4)The pickup is 4x4 and torsion bar front springs. I had just bought this pickup and one of the front shocks was totally broke the other I'm sure was worn. So I have nothing to compare to. Of course the handling improved over the previous condition with the broken shock.I notice though when driving at highway speeds and coming over a hump in the road the front end will dive down, then bounce up but does not continue to bounce. So if feels like they are doing the intended job. When driving over really rough bumpy roads the pickup rides nicer than my car but that is expected as the car is strut base with minimal suspension travel.Time will be the big test for these. I will try to report back with updates randomly. I have put about 2000 miles on the shocks so far.
-
Fast shipping great price great product
-
I needed to upgrade the shocks on my Corvette. These KYB's give a comfortable ride without all of the rough ride of high performance shocks. The car is more comfortable on trips and rough roads.I definitely recommend these shocks on a Corvette, providing the car isn't going to spend time on a race track.
-
Super great prices on these shocks, Very easy to install & work great on my 2007 Ford Ranger XL reg. cab long bed !
-
It's hard to get too excited about a set of shock absorbers. The rear shocks were easy to install.....not so easy on the front, not because of the shock absorber but just the application. Any other gas-filled shock would present the same problem.
-
I installed these on my 2000 Ford Econoline. They feel pretty close to the OEM shock. I'm very happy with them as I wasn't looking to try and tune out my suspension or stiffen the ride/handling, just wanted a good replacement shock for a reasonable price. Installed with no problems and have been riding on them for 6 months without issues.
-
Great shock for the price. Very smooth ride. Came with extra hardware. Same as OEM.1965 c10 stock truck.Larry
-
These are the OEM shocks that came off my 2004 Toyota minivan with 118,000 miles. The old ones were starting to "bounce" a little too much. These new ones fixed it and the ride is soooo much better.
-
After looking for a performance shock for my 2006 gmc truck I decided on trying these shocks. The price was great and the resulting improvements in road feel was impressive. A stiffer shock that provides true world class performance.
-
Bolts right up. Good stock replacement. A little stiffer which is what I wanted. Can't say anything bad about them! Comes with whatever hardware you need.
-
If your buying this through AutoPartsWAY, your doing yourself a favor. better quality part for the same cost of the crap at autozone. my mazda 6 loved having these new shocks. It just didn't love it's Engine because Ford is the worst (un related)
-
I installed these on the front of my 1986 Chev S10. Perfect fit and it rides new again. I will install the same on rear.
-
original shocks went & always had good service out of kyb shocks for the imports so figured I would try them on s10 blazer, well after over a year they still feel the same as day I installed them. Would recommend them over other brands as they seem to hold up well.
-
Bought these to replace the original units. They work well and adjust to the road conditions. Very good original replacement item.
-
I rebuild the front suspension on my 1996 Nissan 200SX and am quite happy with the results. I trust this name as they build some of the best quality struts and shocks in the industry and I am never let down.
-
Bought these for a 2000 Chevrolet C3500 crew cab long bed. These shocks are firm and provide a very good ride for a heavier pickup. Much cheaper to buy and have shipped from AutoPartsWAY than from the usual online parts stores that I frequent.
-
This is a generic picture so dont be fooled. You will get the correct shock IF you pay attention to the correct KYB numbers. These fit my 1994 Corvette. But with one issue. I ordered two for the rear. I was sent two different packages. Inside, one was white and one in the other box was silver. Really? For a corvette? LOL. Ah, what can you say.....Anyway, I plan on painting them anyway now that they are two different colors. I cant rate the actual product yet as I have just installed them. But the guys on the vette forums say if you want a COMFORTABLE street ride, get these. You want stiff racing shock, go with the Bilsteins. Also, FYI, Bilstein will rebuild your originals for you. $75.00 labor each, plus parts. You can buy a set of 4 for around 320 if you scan the net. Hope that helps anyone...I'll update the review once I put some miles on the car. I only did the rears as the budget allows, next is the front.
-
Rear shocks on my 2002 Tacoma had 234,000 miles on them so it was time to replace. Ordered these and they came within days and installed myself in 25 minutes. The ride was dramatically improved. Would use this brand on my other vehicles.
-
Purchased or my 2009 Ranger, replaced the rear shocks, easy change easy fit. Rides very smooth, I do not carry much in my truck bed, I like the smooth action.
-
Installed these on my 1990 K1500 pickup. They fit perfect and improved the ride of my truck 100%. I would buy again.
-
My 2004 Dodge Dakota started to sag a bit in the back end, After installing these KYB shocks it raised the back about 3/4 of an inch and has a very nice ride. About an hour to install.
-
KYB shocks made the Jeep ride like new again. Affordable and easy to install. Any problem, watch one of many YouTube videos, as instructions/paperwork is useless.
-
Shocks were delivered earlier than I expected " Thank you " and were packed very well. I installed the shocks on a Ford Windstar van, to replace the Monroe's that lasted approx. 55 thousand miles. Basic mounting with a bolt and nut through a round bushing on each of the shocks. Lots of penetrating oil, and a socket set, and also wrench set. The shocks are quite a improvement, and noticed right away. Going over some nearby road construction, the van handled the dips and bumps very well. The ride is firm and stable, making the van more nimble and assuring when taking corners, and tracks well when simulating a frantic lane change. Knowing from experience, these shocks should break-in and become more tuned to the area you drive making the shockseven better with as break-in mileage gets increased, ( approx. 500 + miles ). I also like the mono tube design over the double, for durability, and support.
-
This shock, along with the same model for the front have proved an excellent choice for my 1989 Toyota pickup, 2 WD, base model. While it wouldn't be reasonable to compare this shock with the 23 year old OEM shocks, I have been very pleased with them. After installing them, the truck rides very nicely, handles well, and doesn't bounce. While I thought these shocks would be very firm, in fact the ride is still very comfortable with no load on the truck. I've had KYB shocks in the past, and always been happy with them. This one will be no different.
-
These shocks are very good an I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to replace shocks on their vintage vehicle.
-
bought these for my 98 GMC to replace the worn out rear shocks. Very happy with these, helped restore the trucks handling
-
Works great! Replaced rear shocks for my 2006 Civic EX Sedan. Dealer wanted over twice the amount for it. When I looked at my original shocks, they had the Honda logo an part number but on the bottom it also had KYB.
-
Fit my 1999 F150 perfectly and made for a stiffer ride. Only problem was the shocks don't come compressed for KYB so I had to muscle them into place. The old front shocks were so bad I could easily squeez them by hand but I had to practically stand on these to collapse them. Other than that I am happy with them.
-
Great shock for the price. Others that cost double or triple are probably better but I will never tell with what I put them through.
-
Monotube gas is silky! I used vw rear on classic Mini race car front modified end and it helped hold the inside tire down on corners, less tire spin. The bushing pins are metric sized Why spend more?
-
so far i have put these on 2 of my vehicles, an SUV and a heavy duty truck. they stiffen the ride of the vehicle some but i feel like thats a good thing.
-
These can as described, and were easy to install. Really smoothed out the cars ride. I would recommend these to everyone.
-
I carried these around for 6 months before I installed them.It took a week before they were broken in. After that they are as good or better than original
-
fit correct and the price was great compare to buying at Pepboys or Autozone Order them it beat buying in the store.
-
Same visual Quality as OE and came with all the hardware to install. I have KYB on 2 vehicles and have been happy.
-
replaced the shocks all around with these and the ride is great. these excel-g's have replaced the GR-2's. very happy with them.Just an FYI, these do have a slight gas charge and raised the front of my ghia about an inch. while I like the ride, I plan on replacing the fronts with oil (no gas) shocks.
-
These shocks work well and provide a comfortable ride and good control, the fit was good, and restored my 99' Silverado back to a new ride
-
The KYB shocks are a good medium priced shock. They work nicely on my 1994 Mazda B4000 pickup.Perfect fit.
-
I do a lot of work on my own vehicles and was slightly skeptical buying car parts via AutoPartsWAY. I have now changed my mind. These were just like the other KYB shocks I have been looking for with other car websites. Fit exactly like they should have, fit perfect on my ’07 Fusion, and they were cheaper! All around a great product for a great price.
-
awesome!!!!!! works great on my Baja bug. big improvement over stock travel length. the ride is actually pretty good too
-
The diameter is much smaller than the motircraft shocks Ictook off my 1996 F250. I think they were still the OE's. seem to work ok. Chose diyble tube for rear for robustness to dents from road debris. Rears are very exposed.
-
These shock absorbers seem like a decent quality product at a reasonable price. I installed them on a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport. My vehicle has a lot of under-carriage rust, so removing the old shocks was a chore. After removing the old shocks, installation of the new ones was a easy. The only noticeable difference between these and the OEM shocks is the end where the two screws go. The OEM shocks had completely enclosed screw holes on the lower end, while the KYB's had U-shaped holes that are open on the sides. Not sure why they make them this way, but to me it seems less secure if one of the screws should become loose. After test driving, I found the ride to be soft & quiet and was quite pleased. I would recommend these shocks for anyone who is just looking to replace their OEM shocks with something of similar characteristics.
-
I installed these on my 2006 Toyota Sienna. I had to replace driver side rear shock because it was blown ( 7yrs of service is bad). It was easy enough that the setup took longer to do; than the actual install... Took me 20minutes to install both rear shocks and took me damn near 30minutes of prep... LOL!!!Either way it change the handling characteristic of the van. She seem to ride stiffer than with the stock shocks. The KYB Shocks themselves were aittle longer ( about an inch or 2) than the factor units they replaced. After the install the van felt really good and I could hardly feel the usual bumps and dips on the street I live in ... With these new shocks it seemed to dampened better going down the road.Overall very happy and for the price ... COME ON !!! $68 bucks to change this much of the ride quality ... worth every penny...
-
According to the manufacturer these shocks are 20% better than original equipment. I believe it. They are certainly better than the ones I replaced. Very easy to install, and they work well.I only have two complaints:First, the instructions that come with all KYB shocks are worthless. (Thankfully I know how to install them without instructions. Experience is everything, sometimes.)Second, I wish they dampened the ride more. These shocks are a vast improvement over the worn out ones I replaced, but the ride is still a little spongy. I spoke with the technical department at KYB about this. They explained that this is due to them designing these shocks to target a happy medium of ride preference. In other words, some people might not prefer the firm ride that I happen to like. All in all, I would say these are the best shocks you might find for a passenger car or minivan. If you have a truck or SUV upgrade to the KYB Monomax or Ranchos.
-
I have a grand cherokee 2001 4x2, and decided to change the rear shocks because they had already been working bad, between search and search by AutoPartsWAY, I decided on these shocks, kyb, I always knew it was good for small cars .. but not for trucks ... to install and test the truck, turned the convenience and comfort, stable, passing through holes, or feel, cornering stability, is 1000% stable .. in conclusion these dampers are better in performance than the original mopar I had my truck ..
-
Very pleased with this product. The "floatiness" is gone, the truck rides and handles like new again. The remarkable thing is that both cornering AND comfort are improved. I initially thought a road I took had been resurfaced, but when I looked, the imperfections were still there...just didn't feel them anymore.
-
I install this ítem in my 1978 vw beetle and it works great. This are rear and support all the weight of the motor of the car
-
It's amazing what a major difference from the worn out shocks I had installed at Pep Boys. Hope this lasts longer. Did not want to spend a lot for my Nissan Frontier pickup. Just thought it would've been more heavy duty but the truck rides as if it were a car so I guess I can't complain. So easy to install, too
-
Changed at 100,000 miles on my 2004 infiniti fx35 and the feel just like OE. Good price for just the rear. I would recommend them for anyone else. Not an upgrade though.
-
These shocks are great. These are made in Japan of very high quality. Perfect seam welded. It made my GMC truck drive like it did when it was new. Many people compare KYB and Monroe. It has been my experience that the KYBs are a little stiffer. Give these kyb shocks a chance and I bet you will be impressed.
-
Shocks made the ride and handling in our 2001 Tundra as good, or better than new. With 119K miles, they were long overdue and easy to install.
-
Didnt need a replacement set quite yet, but did it anyway on all four and darn ill be damned this company has some good riding shocks. The bumps are MINIMAL on my great little wiggly 4x4 Ranger!
-
Shocks eliminate body lean and transmit alot of road feel back to driver. Stiff but not jarring ride. These replaced priginal factory shocks on my 99 dakota r/t. Shock barely fits through the lower control arm opening. I mean just barely. Once in it's fine as just bushing and shock mounts hang out the bottom.
-
even for me for professional Bayer(as my friends call me) this quality was surprise i never bought oem part like this shocksand i would like say thanks for KyB and AutoPartsWAY.
-
Installed on a Dakota R/T whose shocks were shot after 50,000. KYB needs to compress shocks from factory. They were a mother to compress to put lower bolt through. Some shocks come compressed and are tied together from factory. Then you cut ties and as shocks lower thread the bolt. Truck feels like it sits higher in back. I can subtlely feel the truck bed moving up and down w/ new schocks. Great road feel and smooth ride for such a stiff shock.
-
Not too stiff, not too soft... Great shocks for a lowered C1500. The KYB catalog notes this PN is for a 2"-4" front drop and they work well for this application.
-
I had fairly new bilstein shocks on my 2004 s-10 2wd blazer and the front end was spongy and floaty. I replaced them with these shocks and what an improvement. The front end it tighter with more control without being harsh at all. The price was right too.
-
Had bought the Monroe 911204 Reflex Light shocks and was very hopeful because they worked great when brand new. However, after going through several Monroe replacements when shock after shock began leaking after less than 6 months of use, my controlled experiment showed that Monroe has a consistent quality control issue. I would not buy Monroe for a bicycle. So had read that these shocks were stiffer than stock and that some had problems with the bushings, etc. Well, since there are not many shock choices for a 2002 Pathfinder and that I had shown the other choice Monroe was junk, I decided to give these a try.First off, the stock shocks are made by KYB. The original shocks were not worn out, but I wanted something that rode better. The stock shocks have plenty of rebound dampening, but have virtually no compression dampening as tested manually. These Gas Adjust shocks have equal compression dampening as rebound dampening and ride much better than the stock...
-
Although the shocks are great shocks at a great price, it took me a couple of orders to get them right.1)At the bottom of the ad, it will say people who bought "this" shock, also bought "this other shock" I assumed incorrectly that I was getting two of the same... wrong... When the package came, the first and the second shock were wrong. I ended up going to the KYB website to verify the correct part number for my vehicle.2) So I order the correct ones by the KYB site and the front shocks are grey and the backs are white... I don't know if it's a marketing change - new colors and old colors... so I mismatch now... I guess a can of white spray paint could fix it... but I am not hung up on that sort of thing.
-
These worked great on the rear of my 1974 VW Thing. It was just the right amount of extra lift.
-
I can't remember if this part number was for the front or rear of my 1985 Mercedes 300D, so I will talk about both here. The fronts were great, nice shock, good rebound characteristics and helped greatly in the handling of the car. The rear shocks were another story, they couldn't dampen the cars weight very well, so the back of the car was still a bit bouncy. I recommend getting the "heavy duty" ones for the back if you have this style car and want a stiffer than stock ride.
-
If you want a Cadillac ride these are not for you, but they are also better than the tooth jarring ride of ProComps monotube. I replaced worn Monroe Reflex shocks up from and Edlebrock in the rear of a Dakota, and I love that the ride is now balanced. The Edlebrocks were fine but not a good match to the worn out Reflex. My truck sits flat cornering and ride great at highway speed. At slow speeds the shock can be a little stiff on a cement road with busted seams, but they take speed bumps and dips with ease. Braking and cornering in my quad cab Dakota is so much better. These gave it it's confidence back.
-
This was a rear shock replacement for a 2006 Chrysler T&C. My previous shock was so worn that it was compressible with a single push and then the recoil would take 30 seconds. At this point, my vehicle only had approximately 40k miles and this is way before the 50k replacement recommended by the manufacturer. Granted, this vehicle is consistently carrying 5 people and have taken cross country trips fully loaded so it is understandable that the shock would wear quicker. The installation of the shock was pretty straight forward and the packaging was good. Post installation, a test drive showed that the replacement was much needed. I have not used other shocks from Monroe or Gabriel so I cannot speak about them. As far as the KYBs are concerned, they were stiffer than the stocks but not too stiff that it makes the ride uncomfortable. In terms of handling differences, I did not notice much of a change but honestly, we're driving around in a 2 1/2 ton car, its not going to...
-
Makes a world of difference in the ride of my 1990 Crown Victoria, original shocks were dead, floating over hills, now the car rides nice and tight with no floating, and a new feeling ride, you won't go wrong installing this product in your vehicle,i would install them in any vehicle i own!!!!

A++++++++++++++ highly recommend Purchased due to reviews on AutoPartsWAY.com and product review from consumer reports. Bottom line, reviews and reports weren't wrong, this is a great product.
-
Copy and paste of my other review as these are sold as front and rear sets.I have a jeep that had the Upcountry Shocks installed back when it was new. These are equivalent to the HD Rancho type of shocks. I was worried that these shocks would make the truck a bit floaty (which was why I ditched the stock shocks back when I got the vehicle). However, these have excellent control and ride quality. The ride is a bit softer than the Up Country shock package, but firmer than a stock shock would be. Overall an excellent replacement shock.
-
Bought these for my 1999 F250 Super Duty 4x4. These are a great shock but just too stiff for me. The truck is stock and my off roading days are over so it is a pavement princess. Nothing against the shock. It appears well made and is perfect for a truck that gets off roaded or tows/ carrys heavy loads. I will be returning them and trying to get something more stock. Once again nothing against the shock its just too stiff for my old body.
-
I have a 05 Durango and these were night and day from the stockers, a much better ride! Quality material and rides like a dream.

A quick rundown on the KYB line-up, as Dodge Durango/Dakota's have a choice of all three:Red: Truck-like, for oversize tires, RV towing, etc - I didn't buy these.Silver: Gas-a-Just Street Performance, handling and ride smoothly considering the handling advantage.Black: Basic OEM replacement - I didn't buy these. The KYB Silver Gas-a-Just impressed me AGAIN! My 2003 Dodge Durango R/T AWD 5.9L drives better than new! Steering response is more solid, braking has improved, and cornering has never been this good. There would probably be a slight loss in ride comfort from OEM (float-a-matic) "shocks", ours were worn -originals- so I really can't comment on the original factory shocks. They are money very well spent on your vehicle, and you will not have to replace them again. The only thing better than these would be the "top shelf" units from Koni or Bilstein, and unless you're racing on weekends, neither of those are necessary or better for...
-
These KYB's were a direct fit and inproved the ride on my 02 Durango 4X4 to better then new.I will buy again from AutoPartsWAY.comI also picked up a set of,KG 5440
-
These shocks provide and excellent ride and KYB offers superb customer service/tech support over the phone. I would not rely on the online fitment guides but instead call tech support with your application information and desired goals, i.e. what kind of ride you are looking for, whether you are looking for sporty, off road, or luxury ride.AutoPartsWAY offered the best pricing and great delivery 5 of 5 stars without reservation.

I ordered the OE Honda parts to replace my rear shocks on my 2006 Civic Hybrid and it came to about $230+. I also ordered this Amz for $65. I ended up using the Amz KYB one which installed quickly and perfectly (my first time). At a savings of $160+ after only using new lower mounting bolts which were recommended. Time to return the rest of the parts.
-
Well I always use nakata parts for my VW beetle, this time I tryed KYB and I noticed a huge difference ,they really change your ride to soft and comfortable. The only drawback however is that on corners i wish they were a bit harder, they tend to incline the car a bit.I recommend this shocks to anyone ,who wants to make his beetle ride look like a new car ride.
-
Been using them for years and they have never let me down. You can pay a lot more if you need a heavier duty shock (like for off roading) but for normal use you cannot go wrong.
-
Put these on my 1993 Chevy pick up. Drives nice and way better road comfort. Great Shocks that are worth every penny.
-
What's to say, less expensive than OEM Mop**r shocks & much better ride quality than the OEM's ever had! Wish I had replaced them sooner...
-
Although our '07 Civic has less than 25K, rear suspension was starting to bottom out. Old oem shocks were worn out. New KYB's make driving fun and safer again. $$ well spent.5000mi later these shocks & struts are making a good car better. Weight carrying and handling continue to out perform oem.Had to move several loads of building bricks with our Civic. Largest load was around 1000lbs. Car handled the weight and continues to drive fine.
-
These worked great on my husbands 84 Corvette. They really improved the ride over the old busted shocks! What a difference.
-
These are great shocks, and a great value. Put these on the Chevy Silverado and they are a huge improvement over the OEM (the fronts were shot). I put KYB's on my 1968 VW type III in 1985 and all these years latter they are still great.
-
Monotube shocks are always the way to go, and imo the KYBs are just as good as the yellow Bilsteins at a much lower price. Handling and control are much improved over stock. Rangers don't handle small choppy bumps well and mine still doesn't, but in every other category it is better. These shocks have a lot more rebound damping, so the ride is both more controlled and smoother at the same time. Most importantly they made the truck feel more solid, as if the frame is stiffer. The only complaint I have is that the bushings for the top mount are much smaller than stock. They do fit but just barely.UPDATE: After having these for a few months I am still very happy with them, although they have noticeably softened. They are still very smooth and controlled, a huge improvement over my stock shocks, but they use more of the suspension travel. The result is an even better ride on the street, but quicker bottoming out over large bumps. For a daily driver I would...
-
Super great product for Ford F-150, a great deal better than the original and supposedly great replacement. Should have bought these in the first place...
-
I bought new shocks all around for my 1967 Ford F-100. I'd used these very same shocks on a previous car, and have nothing but good things to say about them. These shocks offer a great ride, even on my old pickup!
-
Arrived very quickly.I have installed KYB's on many cars/trucks, and I like their durability and function. They dampen the suspension well without being harsh like the koni's on my race car. A little more stiff than OEM, but I think - just right. Very similar in feel to the Bilsteins I recently put on my truck (twice the price of the KYBs, but I'll have the truck long after the van has been replaced).Very quick and easy install on Dodge Caravan. Fronts (when I replace them) will be harder (struts), but I will buy KYBs for there too.
-
I used these as replacement for the blown OEM shocks on a 2003 Pathfinder. They're the perfect balance of firm/pliant for on-road driving where the biggest obstacle is a speedbump or a pothole.Installation was definitely straight forward and did not require a lift at all. Merely park on a level surface and engage the parking brake (and chock the wheels for good measure). Unbolt the bad shocks (the springs will keep the truck 'lifted' while you do this), and install the lower bolt first. The shocks come 'wrapped' in a plastic band that keeps them from expanding. Cut this after the first bolt is on and it will slowly expand upwards. Use this time to guide it into position and insert the bolt at the top. Tighten it all with a torque wrench and move on to the other side. Takes barely an hour start-to-finish.
-
The shocks installed quite easily, two bolts on each side. Dramatic improvement to the ride. Note: if you are replacing the shocks on a Saturn Ion, you will probably need to replace the spring seats too.
-
Shocks are shocks but these perform very well. Was a direct fit and seem to have a smooth ride. Would recommend KYB shocks.
-
With 145,000 miles on my F150, it was time to freshen up the suspension. What a difference - no more washboard effect on really bumpy roads and the handling is improved as well - truck feels alot tighter again as well. Very satisfied with the ride quality.
-
These shocks worked great for my 2004 Saturn Ion 3. First side took 60 minutes and second side took 20 minutes. My trick was to use a second jack to lift shock into place after attached at bottm. Never did shocks before, Thanks.
-
I installed these KYB Gas-a-just shocks on a 2000 Chevy Astro. I was looking for good control and firm, but not too firm, ride for my wife. We were replacing Monroe Sensatrac "lifetime" shocks that wore our very quickly. I've only had these a month and they have done excellent on the local rough roads and a recent 2,000 mile trip through the southern states. These shocks added to a rear swaybar that I added two years ago gave me confident control on winding roads in the Smokey Mountains. I am very pleased. Installation was a snap. I just handed them to my mechanic and said, "Here, install these." :-)

I am a self-diagnosed Bilstein junkie; I absolutely loved them on my lowered S10. It was an easy choice, I'll just buy another set of 4 Bilstein for my 1998 Ford Explorer Sport. But I sure forgot how expensive those things were! After much research and truly diagnosing what I use my truck for, I found myself here with these shocks. These are a spot on replacement for my 1998 Ford Explorer Sport; everything lined up perfectly and installed with zero problems. Removing the old shocks on the other hand.. not as much fun!The old shocks on my truck were complete junk, bottom of the line Monroe shocks. They were leaking fluid and just completely awful as any bump in the road would cause the truck to skip all over the place. I am sure my 30 x 9.5 LT tires didn't help with that much either! After the installation of the shocks (I have Monomax shocks on both the front and rear) the difference was very clear. In a town where the water company runs rampant and...
-
The KYB 344263 GR-2 Shocks were a very good value at $17.99 each. My 2000 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Tahoe rides much better now.
-
I ordered these shocks for my Daugter's car. In ordering these shocks KYB was just going through rebranding the shocks with different colors and part numbers. The customer service I received to make sure these were the correct shocks was just outstanding. My Daugter has had these shocks on the car now for two months and they have made a ride much better.
-
Replaced the front and rear shocks on a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with KYB shocks. Old shocks were the original equipment with 98,000 miles on them. The KYB's fit great and installed without much problems. The ride has been great since the installation.
-
KYBs are the best cheap shox you can get. I put these on my Crown Vic police interceptor and changed it from a wallowing beast to a fairly sharp-handling road car. And the ride is great!ALSO! AutoPartsWAY has distanced itself from the execrable "Just Suspension" KYB outlet and is handling the goods itself. No more lost shipments or arrogant, anal-retentive "service" reps.
-
These shocks were purchased for a Manco Deuce go kart. After buying the right size 12mm bolts, they worked like a dream. The arrived fast and everything was complete.
-
I installed these KYB KG5473 shocks on the rear of my son's 2001 Nissan Frontier truck. They were very easy to install..took about 10 minutes each. They come compressed and strapped so you don't have to manually compress them to get them in place. My son says they are GREAT and made a tremendous difference in the ride of the truck . Of course the shocks taken off had over 100000 miles on them so ANY new shock would have been a significant improvement. But I would HIGHLY recommend these shocks, and the KYB KG5443 front shocks we also installed (but see my review on these for some installation tips).
-
I have a 2006 chevy silverado with a 4/6 drop. I originally bought edelbrock ias. Texas roads have too many dips/holes for these to work. I bought Belltechs and Doetchtechs, they were a waste- same sial boat floating result. So this time i smart and called kyb before ordering and told them i need the stiffest shock they have. These monomax's are 30-35% stiffer than factory. I can tell they were a bitch to put in regardless if i had a lift or not. Well, well worth it though. I love riding behind another lowered silvy and see it float over bumps like its surfing but mine is on rails. In the near future, when i move on to another project, i will remember these. Thanks Andrew Dallas,TX

KYB KG5458 Gas-a- Just Monotube Shock is what I've been looking for to drive safe and comfy my Safari van. No more burfy mood, no more unmenageable boat ride feeling. Very happy with my KYB KG5458 Gas-a- Just Monotube Shocks!
-
Put these on all around, the ride is very close to factory new. They are not harsh or floaty, just a nice combination. They do exactly what KYB said they would.Best shocks I have owned so far.Price and free shipping on AutoPartsWAY is way cheaper than anyone else.
-
I purchased these Gas-A-just shocks for a 2001 Qx4, rear shocks. In a 1-to-1 comparison against the GR-2 equivalents, these are significantly more stiffer (ie. resist change in length). I originally purchased the GR-2 shocks, but upon initial inspection and trials of hand-compressing the shock, I found the GR-2's to be just a bit stiffer than the OEM shocks that came from underneath my truck, but I should mention that the OEM shocks were probably not replaced since the previous owner of the Qx4 got the truck. The Gas-A-Justs were definitely stiffer than the GR-2's and thus the OEM shocks. I opted for the Gas-A-Justs because per the KYB website, the monotube design was made to be a little more efficient in dampening and stronger than the dual-tube designs. KYB monotubes were designed with the intention to upgrade the suspension to provide a little more stiffer ride for better response during cornering and such. Of course, I didn't put these on my truck to race around corners, but...
-
I was hoping to get a little better ride out of my 1 ton Chevy van with these new shocks, and they delivered. Not as much difference from stock as I was hoping, but definitly better. Easy install and all parts included. Worth the money for sure.
-
brand new in the box. vendor gave me great price. shipping reasonable. shocks perform better than expected. came with instruction, bushing, washers, nuts. if you want your bug to handle better and tires to last longer, buy a set.that said, if you like a wallowing lincoln country cruiser ride where it feels as if you are sitting on a water bed sloshing down the highway, then these are not the shocks for you. better you just remove your shocks and replace em with empty plastic liter soda bottles.
-
Bought these back in Jan 2011 installed for 4 months now and still just as good as new. Improved ride by 100%, woould recomend to anyone who is considering thes for their truck. The price is worth the result hands down, will be replacing back shocks with same soon.
-
I installed these on my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder and found them to be perfect, a complete 180 degrees from "stock" shocks. They give increased stability in turns, and also help keep the rear end from sagging so much when I have a trailer hitched up.
-
You don't truly know how bad your shocks were until you replace them. These shocks have given my pickup a great smooth ride at a great price.
-
Ordered 4 KYB GR-2 shocks from AutoPartsWAY. The 344380 for the front and 380365 for the rear. Rears went on without a problem. Got one on the front no problem. When I went to install the other front, the hardware looked different. Checked the boxes, both the correct part number. Checked the parts, and the one was the wrong part number, packaged in a mislabeled box. Got online with AutoPartsWAY, on Saturday afternoon, received all of my return documents and shipping label, ordered the new one, and it was at my house on Monday. Great customer service by AutoPartsWAY!Much improved ride over the worn OE shocks.
-
Installed these on a 1999 crown victoria which before was so bouncy going over bumps. This gave me a nice soft ride and now after hitting bumps the car does not continue bouncing. Great budget shock recommended over Monroe, Gabriel, and other crappy cheapo replacements which usually go bad after a year.
-
These do just fine in my '02 LX-S. Firm response, minimal body roll, restored the road feel and handling on those freeway ramps that started to feel 'twitchy'. Not a four-door-road-pillow shock, not a performance shock, just a nice firmer-ride OE replacement.
-
This is for KYB KG5517 Gas-A-Just shocks but I assume also it would apply to any Gas-A-Just shocks.I purchased these shocks for a 1990 Daihatsu Rocky, which is a somewhat rare vehicle in the USA, making it hard but not impossible to find parts. In the past I have purchased cheap shocks on ebay or other sites hoping to get good quality, but ended up disappointed. So I thought I would take the high road and buy some shocks with a solid brand name (I never heard of any problems with KYBs) and with a slightly better than standard rating/set of features. These are monotube shocks which are apparently better at providing a good solid ride without compromising stiffness. Made in Japan.I could tell immediately when I put these shocks on my vehicle how good they were. Bumps along the road in the city get absorbed well and don't feel like jolts. Although this rig is bouncy and jittery in general, the KYBs make it feel and handle like a brand new rig even...
-
For the price these shocks are a fantastic value, AutoPartsWAY sold these shocks cheaper than the lowest price I could have purchased them on ebay and there was no shipping fee. Great deal, These shocks are going on a jeep liberty I purchased for my daughter. Thanks AutoPartsWAY.
-
Left rear shock went bad on my 2005 FX-35 at 82K miles. Decided to replace both rear shocks - seems like very good OE fit and OE performance. Will install the KYB's for the front when it is time to replace those as well.
-
I put these shocks in my '97 Toyota Tacoma after one of the stock ones finally blew out! They are great and have made a huge difference in handling. Super easy to put in on my truck as it only took about an hour!
-
I used these to replace the original shocks on our '98 GMC 3/4ton 4x4. We wanted to keep the stock height and ride quality and these worked perfect. Since the truck has plenty of ground clearence, installation was no problem. With a lifetime warrenty, I shouldn't have to do that anymore.
-
I bought these shocks to replace a leaking shock on my 2003 GMC Sonoma . So I decided to replace all 4 with KYB. I did not notice a big difference from to old GM shocks to the new KYB ones. I have bought this brand before when I had a 2000 S10 with a ZQ8 suspension, and loved the ride. But the new ones are a little to soft for me. That is why I gave it a 4 out of 5. The shocks are a good deal for the money.

If you are looking to gain back the factory ride this is a great replacement shock to the factory shock. Just put it on my toyota truck after 70K mi on the original shocks. The original shocks were dead, you could compress them and they would not retract. You could really feel them hit the bumpstops going over bumps. None of that anymore. AutoPartsWAY offered a better price than the local O'reilly store and quick shipping can't be beat.
-
I have had no problems and a much improved ride, great deal for shocks. Installed on a 2007 dodge Durango 4x4.
-
I bought this shocks for my wife's 2000 Grand Marquis, which had Monroe on it. What a difference they made in ride quality! Now the car rides luxurious like it should and not like a boat with the Monroe shocks. Also has a little better handling. Depending on the application (which in my case it worked!) this shocks are a good buy!

These shock are a huge improvement over the stock shocks on my GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab. Well worth the money.
-
I was concerned that this shock would make the ride harsh but was pleasantly surprised that it's a comfortable yet controlled ride.Much better ride when pulling my trailer also. The bushing supplied with this shock will not work with a Chevrolet truck as the top opening is larger than the bushings so I had to reuse the original bushings.KYB should supply the proper bushing for GM products
-
theres only so much you can do to improve a stock suspension system, but these things just work damn well. no more worries about train tracks, no more slowing down to turn.. theyre very soft shocks, but when you hit big bumps they really do stiffen up considerably to absorb the waves. as a result my truck can tackle anything again, its quite surprising how well these work even though the shocks i had were broken, so anything would feel better of course.
-
what a diffrence in the ride of my truck. The shocks that were on my truck were not that old but if you hit a bump it was like you bottomed out now you barley notice a bump which says alot for a 4X4.
