Although rare, Diesel Engine Runaway is caused when external hydrocarbons are drawn into the engine and can cause over speeding and catastrophic engine failure. Life, limb and your vehicle are put in jeopardy. BD Diesel Performance has you covered should the worst happen with our Electronic Positive Air Shutdown (E-PAS) units by cutting the intake air supply to the cylinders and safely shutting down the engine. The E-PAS controls the electronic throttle body in the intake manifold found on most late model diesel engines by closing it to shut off the air supply in emergency situations. The E-PAS can be easily installed in less than 1.5 hours with factory plug-in connectors and premade wiring harnesses. Automatically resets itself after shutdown and can be easily removed for truck lease returns.

  • The Ford 6R140 transmission varies line pressure between 70 and 170 psi. This works well for stock trucks but for heavy duty use and higher horsepower applications this may be insufficient. BD's PressureLoc for the 6R140 is a solenoid replacement that overrides the transmission line pressure to maximize output enabling the transmission to handle higher horsepower. The BD PressureLoc will allow the transmission to produce 250-300psi, substantially increasing clutch holding power which prevents clutch slippage and premature clutch failure.

  • Turbochargers operate at high temperatures. The Cool Down Timer is designed to keep the engine running when the ignition is turned off to prevent turbocharger bearing failure that could occur when the engine is shut down, stopping the cool lubricating oil flowing to the turbocharger while it is still hot. If the oil flow is shut off too early, the remaining oil in the bearing housing will overheat causing coking of the bearings which causes both premature bearing wear and reduced oiling of the bearings. Allowing the engine to idle to a minimum operating speed gives the turbocharger time to cool down. The CDT is adjustable for up to 5 minutes of idle time, or optionally works with any K-Type EGT probe for temperature-based shutdown.
