- A CURT custom wiring connector (sometimes called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURTs custom wiring connectors come into play. A custom wiring connector uses a single original equipment plug to plug into a special socket provided by your vehicle. Though this option is not available on every vehicle, some automotive manufacturers design their vehicles to be easily equipped for towing by supplying a socket, integrated into the vehicles electrical system, to readily accept a custom wiring connector. With a CURT custom wiring connector, there is no need to tap into the taillight assembly because a special socket is already provided. This custom wiring connector provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring option for a variety of vehicles (see application info to verify fitment with your vehicle). The components of this 38K kit easily drop into the truck bed pucks, instantly equipping the truck for gooseneck towing. The kit includes a gooseneck ball, safety chain anchors, a rubber hole cover and a durable storage case. It is designed specifically for the Chevrolet, Ford, GMC or Nissan Titan XD puck system and cannot be installed without it. It is rated for 38,000 lbs. GTW and 9,500 lbs. vertical load. The OEM puck system gooseneck ball perfectly fits into the center ball hole and provides a 2-5/16 in. ball to fit most standard gooseneck trailers. It features with a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. The Chevy / GMC-compatible gooseneck hitch boasts a one-person installation. It is built with fewer pieces than competitor hitches to keep installation simple, and the pieces are designed to be compact so they can be lifted and bolted into place without the help of a second person. Weve also eliminated a number of steps from the process to speed up installation time and reduce the number of modifications needed on the vehicle. The hitch does not require the exhaust or spare tire to be lowered. It requires no welding, temporary truck bed removal or even bed flange trimming. Best of all, pre-existing factory holes are used to mount the hitch to the trucks frame, meaning the only drilling necessary is for the gooseneck ball hole and safety chains in the truck bed. Once installed, the OEM-style gooseneck hitch for Chevrolet / GMC offers simple operation and highly secure towing. It is tested in accordance with SAE J2638 to safely tow up to 32,500 lbs. GTW.
