- SEE MERCEDES SERVICE BULLETIN P-B-83.55/119a When repacing the compressor, inspect for faulty freewheel clutch pulley on the alternator. Rotate pulley in the direction of rotation. The pulley should lock up immediately. If it slips or fails to lock up, even a small amount, replace with new. Not doing so can result in A/C clutch or compressor failure.
