They can easily handle a variety of oversize trailers, including toy and car haulers, livestock trailers, dumper trailers, large flatbed trailers, large boat trailers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). This particular class 5 hitch features a gross trailer weight capacity of 18,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 2,700 lbs. It is designed to be a custom trailer hitch for certain years of the Chevy Silverado 2500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic and GMC Sierra 2500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). All CURT Commercial Duty class 5 hitches feature a 2-1/2 in. x 2-1/2 in. receiver tube opening to accept the strongest of ball mounts and towing accessories. This kit includes the CURT Double Lock gooseneck hitch and installation brackets to match. The under-bed Double Lock gooseneck hitch gets its name from the two locking pins that engage the trailer ball and hold it in place, giving you twice the security when towing especially heavy trailers. The Double Lock mounts underneath your truck bed, using the included brackets, and provides a removable 2-5/16 in. gooseneck trailer ball with a gross trailer weight capacity up to 30,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 7,500 lbs. Using the heavy-duty operating handle, the trailer ball can be unlocked and flipped over whenever necessary to allow full use of the truck bed. The Double Lock comes with solid safety chain hookups, an attractive chrome trim ring, a durable carbide powder coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty.
