- Carbon buildup is an enemy of any motor, and the Mishimoto Direct-Fit Oil Catch Can system for your 2011+ Ford F-150 is the defense. Modern vehicles use a PCV, or “Positive Crankcase Ventilation", system to capture the vapors that escape past the piston rings into the crankcase of your engine and recirculate them back into the intake system to be burned again. While this is much better for the environment, it’s not as great for your engine. In doing so, these vapors carry remnants of oil and unburned fuel, which make their way into your intake system, causing multiple problems. The first and largest problem is that the oil particles being carried in these vapors coat your intake system, including the intake manifold and intake valves.
