This fit my 2013 Nissan Frontier perfectly. The tailgate drops slowly and quiely. No longer have to worry about it dropping and denting.

My Volvo's rear hatch did not stay up at all. These went right on and after a little opening of the hatch it opened right up, nice and slow to the top. Did not "POP" open like I feared it might. Great quality part from a great company. RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND

Just pull the old ones straight off. They are simple held in place by clip so no tools needed. Each end snaps onto a little ball thingy.

I was very pleased with the purchase of this strut for my Subaru Loyale back hatch. The original struts were completly shot and these are so much cheaper than getting from a dealer. You do have to be a little handy though because these aren't direct replacements for the Loyale. But, after I installed these, the hatch works better than I can ever remember and did I say a lot cheaper than from the dealer. To install, I opened the hatch by propping open with a broom. I unscrewed the old struts from car body. The original struts are riveted on. I placed the strut in a vise, used a hacksaw to cut off the back of the rivet. I wasn't able to completely remove the rivet back so I then found a drill bit almost the same size as rivet and drilled it out. The rivet then popped out. Once the old strut was removed from the old hardware it was easy to install. Use the old mounting hardware with the pins that come with this strut and then just screw back on to car body.
