This part is exact same part that came off my Jetta and is made in Germany. It is really difficult to get the retaining bolts loose in the alternator shaft. You will need the removal tool (I used the bosch 8088) and two breaker bars. It is really torqued down tight. I suggest leaving the alternator in the car for support and temporarily removing the wind shield washer reservoir to get at the front of the pulley.

Made in Germany. Works great. Pull the tensioner back, put a allen wrench in the hole to keep the belt loose, use the special tool to remove the pulley, put it back on in a wal-mart parking lot, if need be, save yourself 200-300 dollars in parts let alone labor. Will save your belt and stop the squealing/bouncing belt. When it goes bad you won't notice as if your troubleshooting a failed bearing, it still turns freely and doesn't feel loose or metal on metal, it is more like an old school fan clutch, that dampens the variable torque or will turn a little bit after when you spin it by hand and then try stop it by holding the shaft. I.E. The tensioner is still good, buy this, it is all you need. Get an extra one and serpentine belt, for peace of mind on a long trip.
