Engine Timing Tape MSD

  • Features:
    • Timing tape for factory or aftermarket harmonic balancers
    • Size For Harmonic Balancer
  • Accurate ignition timing is one of the most vital adjustments you can make to your engine. Proper timing can mean the difference between winning and losing a race or even blowing an engine (as a worst-case scenario). Recognizing the importance of timing, MSD offers these Timing Tapes. The MSD Timing Tape comes with eight different tapes to fit common balancers ranging from 5.25 to 8 in diameter. The tapes are marked off in one-degree increments from 14 degrees ATDC to 64 degrees BTDC and are printed on tough, chemical-resistant material. Not only do the MSD Timing Tapes help you get an exact timing setting, they allow you to see exactly where the Total timing is set. Remember, the Total timing is just as critical as the initial timing and the MSD Timing Tape will help you ensure that it is set accurately.

Stuck well and is very visable. Unless you know your harmonic balancer diameter the only easy way to figure out the right size tape to use is by holding it up to your existing marks and seeing if they line up

The tape does the job. It didn't come with instructions, but some how I figured it out. The adhesive is sticking and I haven't had a problem since installing the tape. I would recommend it to anyone trying to dial in their distributors timing curve or set their initial timing.
