Flowmaster employs over 250+ workers dedicated to building the highest quality U.S. made exhaust products available.
Flowmaster operates the only exhaust Research and Design facility of its kind in the world, centered around our SuperFlow engine dynamometers complete with E.C.A. (engine cycle analysis) equipment and also SuperFlow chassis dynos. Through use of these dynos, Flowmaster's engineering staff can track the complete engine cycle in millionths of a second and can obtain exact technical data of each degree of cam rotation, from induction to the tip of the exhaust system, while also showing the power numbers that really matter, the power numbers "to the ground." Flowmaster also utilizes Spectrum Analyzers to fine "tune" the sound of each of the eleven different series of mufflers that Flowmaster currently offers, both for peak performance and just the right sound levels and tones.
Flowmaster's product line includes exhaust products for Performance Street, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Street Rods, RV's, Motorhomes, and all types of race applications. With over 400 different muffler models, 370+ exhaust systems and numerous exhaust accessories available, Flowmaster offers you the choice of sound to fit your preference from "wild to mild" and your specific vehicle needs. With Ray still active and "hands on" with the R and D department in the development of new exhaust products and new technologies currently being tested, the future looks to be very exciting indeed.

Awesome Flowmaster sound and connected (relatively) painlessly to my 02 Tacoma. You do have to add an extra hanger as it will not fit in the rear stock hangers and the bolt that came with the kit was too large to fit through my frame. I didn't go five stars on this because it DOES NOT COME WITH GASKETS or mounting hardware, so you will have to buy your own. Not a big deal since the gaskets came to $4 (O2 sensor and flange), but just something to be aware of. If you can't recycle your existing hex nuts from your O2 sensor, I used 8mm lock nuts and they worked perfectly.
-
Paid my local muffler shop $175 to install. Fit perfectly. I did have them cut back the tip for a more subtle look. Sounds great.
-
didnt buy this on AutoPartsWAY. i got mine through advanced auto. payed a little more for sure. just want you to know that this exhaust is the best. had it for at least a year. sounds very natural and dosnt "drone" in high gears like most do. throttle response also increased drastically
-
Little too quiet but just as described.
-
Bought this for my 1991 Camaro RS with the 305 V8. Very easy to install, made in the USA. Sounds better than my stock exhaust that was rusted out.
-
Installed this system on my 2010 F-150 5.4L Lariat. It was easy to install and took about an hour and a half. Nice to have the option of rear or side exit. I chose rear. Very happy with the sound and look of the new exhaust system. Deep and throaty, but not too much. Would recommend to anybody. Only downside is that it arrived a few days after the expected delivery date.
-
System fit nicely, went together relatively easily and sounds great!
-
-
quality built parts easy and detailed instructions fast shipping
-
great fit 1967 Camaro convertible , after market bmr center brace
-
-
My son loves it got it for Christmas and put it on his car sounds great too!
-
Great instructions! The most difficult part is deciding which way to turn the exhaust tips, out the back or behind the rear wheels.
-
Good sound, no drone and easy install.
-
Shipped faster than I expected. Installed in less than an hour on my 2001 Silverado 2500 4x4 with the 6.0. A little bit of cabin drone, but that's to be expected. I had already dynamatted the doors on my truck so I imagine it would be much louder inside without it. Just a friendly heads up. Overall I'm very pleased with it.
-
Bolt right on and sounds great with the dual 40 mufflers
-
Took forever to decide on an exhaust. so much research and comparisons. finally decided on the American thunder because of flow masters awesome sound reputation and performance.Boy am I glad I went with this one instead of the corsa extreme for a $1000 more. Sounds amazing. noticed a huge increase in HP.Here are two things that I noticed that I have not heard in my research.1-when it goes into eco mode I can not really hear a difference. And what I do here sounds good. (was worried about that, and one of the reasons I was not going to get an aggressive exhaust in fear it would sound like crap when in eco) this is simply not the case and I can barely tell the difference.2-when on the highway I have noticed in cruise control that it stays in eco mode a whole lot more, which is good to save gas. I'm guessing because of less restriction and more HP. I can now go up slight grades without it kicking out eco mode.Me, my wife and my 2 girls 7 and 11 absolutely...
-
i love made the camaro sound like the beast it is!

-
This product is great. The added power is awesome. The throaty sound is well throaty.
-
I have a 99 Chevy Silverado 2500 6.0 that I installed this kit on. This kit is very nice comes with all the hardware needed to install. It went on easy and I have had no issues with it. I installed it July 2014 and at first was not really happy with the tone of the exhaust. It was not bad just not what I thought it would be. But after giving it time to break-in I love it the tone did change after having on for about 2 months. It does come with a nice tip you can put on or leave off. The heat sheild seemed like a over kill but I did put it on and the supplied hardware made it simple. If I remember right it think you get the Super 50 Delta Flow Muffler. You can hear it when your on it but when your cruising there is no drone in the cab.
-
Delivered and performed as hoped. Absolutely no issues on any front.
-
These fit my 1998 GMC 3/4Ton Suburban Great. I've also installed on my 1994 Chevy 1/2 Pickup. They fit better than the original GM. Remember to purchase with this the two exhaust manifold donut gaskets, and the flat gasket that fits to the resonator. Only gripe is the bolts supplied to bolt to the resonator are not sized correctly, purchase 4 - 1/2" bolts at 2 inches length to have ready to install.
-
Easy install, sounds great! Don't forget to go buy a new O2 sensor gasket and a new gasket for intermediate pipe to catalytic converter connection. You'll need them as I found out...you cannot possibly reuse the old ones as flowmaster states. Wish they included them as this is why they didn't get five stars from me.
-
excellent product. Installation was easy. Fit is much better than the Magnaflow that I had on previously (Magnaflow feel apart and they would not honor warranty, long story. Don't buy magnaflow).
-
Soft spoken monster. I'd easily buy it again
-
-
Arrived before the timeframe, needed this badly (so made me happy). Some trouble with cat studs, but drilled them out and installed bolds.............. once everything was prepared for installation, things went smooth.... nice and quite, but dont feel any difference in power.... Also, sounds nice when I am on the gas...............but not like the Super 40............... somewhat less aggressive....... but hey..... I have grey hair................ dont want to race on the street anyway. Just was looking for a street legal sound which made me feel good...............
-
Trust me when I tell you the you tube videos don't do these pipes justice! The videos are good but wow when you get these bolted on you will be much more impressed. It took me 40 minutes to install them on my 2014 Ford mustang GT. When I turned the key for the first time I can't even begin to explain the difference. It sounds like a race car now! I have a truck with over 650 hp and this mustang now sounds almost as mean as that truck! I read about some people complaining about drone noise at road speed. I have a convertible and I don't really notice that much of droning. It's definitely louder in the cabin no doubt. If you pass a pedestrian you may want to not crack the gas pedal too hard because they will jump out of their skin from the noise and compression! :)
-
This is installed on a 2011 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I had to cut out my stock exhaust because the bolts that connect the intermediate pipe to the tail pipe froze. Other than that installation was easy. The new exhaust fits very well into the hangers and closely mirrors the stock path. The exhaust note is mellow and not much louder than stock. It has helped my fuel economy 0.4 - 0.6 mpg depending on terrain. I will buy from them again. I think this is an excellent product.
-
I had the American Thunder axle-backs on my 2013 Mustang 5.0 and the Flowmaster 10 series before these and they both weren't loud enough. The Outlaws are significantly louder, but they aren't as loud as I thought they would be, I think they are the perfect volume. They are loud when you want them to be and have a nice grumble when just driving normally. There is some drone, but I actually really like the drone (thats why I always go Flowmaster), the drone gives it deep muscle sound.I went on a date last week and the girl was telling me a story and I gave it a little gas (didn't floor it) and the girl stopped mid-sentence. I told her to continue and she just said, "sorry, I just love the way your car sounds!" Similar thing happened this week on a date.If you want an aggressive, muscle sound (without being obnoxious) definitely go with the Outlaws.
-
Nice finish to the exhaust tip, really nice sound of low rumble and not too loud, it does tend to mellow out just a little bit at higher rpms but still noticeable. As for performance, I do feel just a bit of a punch on the highway and it's seems to be somewhat smoother when accelerating from a full stop. As for fuel economy I haven't noticed much of a change but then again I drive like an ass. For installation, at first the tip does not sit nicely in the center of the bumper cut out so you will need to cut part of the pipe that goes into the muffler so as to correctly position the tip.
-
Nice tone to the exhaust, not too loud. This system fit as expected. The hangers were all in the correct place. As easy as it gets...thanks.
-
Perfect fit 1998 Cherokee XJ 4.0L
-
Excellent...Sounds Great...Looks Great...Easy Install... Fit Perfectly
-
It sounds good but I would like it to be a little louder. Sound quality is top notch. Does not pop at all in high revs. Louder would be better.
-
-
Great system, went on easily and everything lined up first time. Even though the mufflers are rated as very aggressive by Flowmaster the sound is not objective at all. I installed this on a 1987 Monte Carlo SS and just for grins after I took the old system off I fired it up to hear what the car sounded like with just the CAT - nothing like an open system on my 1966 GTO! The CAT substantially cuts down the exhaust noise so don't worry about the aggressive mufflers. The only reason I didn't rate it as 5 stars is when I installed the R/H tailpipe the section of pipe that goes into the muffler seemed to me a little short. I could still rotate the tailpipe by hand after the clamp was tightened all the way down. I've had the system installed a few months now and the tailpipe has stayed in place so I can't complain too much.
-
-
Sounds great on an older 5.0 liter and comes in at a great price. The fitment was pretty flawless for a bolt in exhaust. I didn't need to do any custom work. Just took time to move the pipes around until everything was lined up perfectly. The only thing better than this is having a shop custom bend and weld pipes for you.
-
I ordered this for my husband and he absolutely loves them. We ordered these for our 2004 Silverado 1500, and my husband said that they were easy to install and the sound is great.
-
perfect fit for my 96 Suburban with 6.5 ltr. turbo diesel complete with hardware
-
4.0 cherokee sounds very nice with muffler
-
Finally got around to istalling this on my 2010 Dodge Challenger RT Classic. I love my car, but it didn't really have the sound I was looking for. This cat-back is a noticeable difference and sounds amazing, without pissing off my neighbors. The hardest thing about this install was removing the factory exhaust. This clamp on system only took about 30 min to put on because everything just fit and aligned perfect, minus the factory tips.
-
Installed on 2010 Camaro SS. A tremendous upgrade to the factory exhaust, which I find far too polite for the vehicle. The idle is deep and burbly. It's not oppressively loud inside, the most noticeable difference is the low drone at highway speeds. Also, especially compared to the factory exhaust, this kit delivers wicked exhaust overrun: mean-sounding pops and snarls while decelerating in gear. (I have a 6-speed manual, and this can be defeated by pressing the clutch or riding in neutral. Less fun, but more discreet.) I'm not sure how the overrun would sound in an Automatic. The American Thunder is the second-loudest kit Flowmaster makes behind the Outlaw. My impression is that the Outlaw would garner (for me) unwanted attention, whereas the AT just sounds like a muscle car should. Exhaust shipped to my house, and I had it installed at a local shop for under $100.This isn't my video, but it's a great example of the SS before and after the...
-
Quality is great. Showed up on time. It's a little too loud for everyday use. Wish I could swap out the muffler for the next quieter one.
-
I have a 2006 Colorado work truck that I have been customizing, wheels, accessories, etc. I struck a deer last November and destroyed the air intake system. I replaced it with a K&N system. To complete the job I went with Flowmaster. After imputing all the info on the Flowmaster web site, 817549 was supposed to fit. It didn`t The tailpipe fit, but the pipe coming off the converter was too long. Rather than send it back my local exhaust shop was able to tweek it enough to work. Sounds great, along with the K&N a little more HP.AutoPartsWAY had the lowest price, shipping was quick.
-
The sound is awesome. And it was very easy to install. I have limited knowledge in auto mechanics but I did this project in about 4 hours with minimal tools.
-
This was the third Flowmaster exhaust that I have put on my vehicles. This was a perfect match up to the stock system and was very easy to put on. The only draw back that I wanted to point out was that the rating on the aggressiveness of the sound and it was not there but as it breaks in it is getting to be a little more volume to it. I have looked at a lot of exhaust systems and for the price and quality of the flowmasters it is going to be hard to beat them.
-
I bought these for my 2011 Mustang GT. They were SO easy to install I removed them when I traded for my 2013 Mustang BOSS and put them on that car. Less than an hour to install on car ramps in my garage. They sound AWESOME but do have a bit of a drone at highway speeds. I wouldn't recommend them if you do a lot of highway travel and don't care for constant noise. I love them around town though!
-
the exhaust fit well, was delivered fast, and sounds great!! the package had two options on the tail pipes exits and great stainless exhaust tips.
-
A great price on a great exhaust system. These prices won't break the bank on top name brand exhaust. Great sound without being obnoxious to the neighbors. No drone in the cabin with quality noise insulation around the cabin of the car.
-
My stock muffler had developed a hole so I thought I should replace it with something better. This Flowmaster exhaust did not disappoint. Armed with a Saws-all, I was able to install it in about one hour...no joke. The clamps and hardware are very high quality. Just be careful when positioning the tailpipe because it sits a bit higher than the stock and melted a small piece of my rear bumper. Not a big deal though. Very happy with the result, especially when coupled with a K&N intake kit!
-
First off it did arrive on time but the box was a little rough. There where no missing or damaged parts. Came with a 3 chamber delta flow, center in center out. Its composed of about 7 pieces that go together well with all the clamps and new rubber hangers. There are two metal brackets that go near the rear bumper cover for hanging the tips.DOESN'T INCLUDE THE GASKET WHERE IT BOLTS TO THE MIDPIPE. Course I don't think any of them do. I'd like to compare the sound of the car to a European car with a nice tuned exhaust. Its not loud until you get under a load or until you in the higher RPMs. I don't thing it has a typical RICER sound at all. The sound clips on YouTube don't do it justice, but if you want an exhaust that has the loud Jap sound then this isnt it.I love it, friends live it, others on CruzeTalk love it. And the two tips sticking out the back look awesome. I gave it 4 stars because of the price.
-
Did not fit my application on my 74 Nova. I had to bring it somewhere to customize them into my car by cutting and flaring. Though, when it was installed, it made the perfect sound. Not too loud and not too low. It gives off a perfect thunderous sound, as if there's a storm in the distance. I like the purchase I made, but I didn't like the extra $100 needed to fit it.
-
Install on 2009 Dodge Ram SLT Quad Cab. All the hangers were almost dead on, only minor adjustments were needed. Vast improvement in sound, system sounds almost stock at idle, nice bass around 2000rpm.
-
I bought this as an open box deal. It sounds great on my truck. After i bolted it in, I had the local muffler shop weld it.
-
Has a great sound and tone. Does NOT sound like a Honda fart can!..... The tip fills the the bumper cut out nicely, seems to stick out a smidgen more than the stock and looks great. The oval shape is a great touch and is more appealing than the standard round tip. As the other gentleman has stated: It is NOT fully painted like the picture. Which is quite disappointing since it will tinge with the heat... I really dislike that is was not fully painted, but not worth taking a star away from it. We have Flowmaster on 3 of our vehicles. Thank you AutoPartsWAY and Flowmaster, fix the picture though please as to not mislead more people lol...Here is a link to a youtube vid I found of a 2014 tC with the exhaust: http://youtu.be/QWXZoCWTIvw
-
Couldn't be happier with this purchase. It's on my 04 durango and it sounds great. Nice and loud. Any louder and it'd be giving me a headache while I'm driving.
-
I think they're the perfect cat-backs. Easy to install and the sound is just right. They're not as loud as Magnaflow, but I think those are two loud considering what you're actually running. These give you a full sound without sounding like they're trying to compensate for something.
-
I love these mufflers. I put them on a 2014 Mustang GT. They are loud inside and out. Cabin drown about 60 mph in 6th gear. It can be bad if you already have a head ache. Outside sound, everyone comments on how nice it sounds. But it has cabin drown!
-
This is the first exhaust system I have ever installed in my life and it took me just over an hour. I have a 2012 GMC 2500HD SLE ext. cab and had to cut off 4" with a zaw-zaw but other than that just plug and play. Great sound upgrade over my stock system and looks nice too. Can't really comment on MPG because I have the 4:10 rear end and virtually nothing is going to help my fuel mileage.
-
Purchased this kit for my new F150, item arrived as scheduled and installation was as described and took me most of the day. Need to note this kit is loud, cab noise did increase a bit more then I wished but the sound of my truck coming down the road is great.
-
What a difference. I love the sound. Installation was quick and easy. Watching the video on You Tube will help. I recommend this system.
-
Like everything about it fit perfect sounds good not to laoud not stock I would buy again hope this helps
-
Nice sound to it and look wish I would have bought this when I first purchased my truck. If I owned a truck definitely go aftermarket.
-
I've been watchingp for a good price on this system for over a year, and this was a great deal. It came when expected. The box was damaged and parts were fallig out, but I did receive everything. I am very pleased with this purchase.
-
Great sound although you do have to remember it is a V6 not V8.Well engineered, bolt on, fit perfectly.
-
I bought this exhaust because it was listed as having "mild sound". The thing makes my F-150 pickup sound like a race car. It's twice as loud as the original exhaust. Definitely a performance improvement, with somewhat better mileage as well.
-
Sounds amazing and was easy as anything to install. I bought from AutoPartsWAY Warehouse for a steep discount and as a result, received it missing the chrome tips and one other part (which wasn't needed for my install). I contacted AutoPartsWAY in regards and being as it was a warehouse deal, they could not ship me another one BUT they were very helpful and refunded me money to purchase the chrome tips. Was very happy with the service as well as the muffler system itself.
-
Perfect fit on my 98 cherokee 6 cyl sport. Sounds great at idle, even BETTER when you floor it. I recommend replacing the cat as well (with a flowmaster cat) when you swap out the exhaust, to get the true, full effect of a flowmaster system. Dont waste your time with any other manufacturer.
-
just enough sound on the road, great boost for my truck. simple to install. must weld the ends but no big deal.More power x5!!!! I also added these to my truck and now my truck is actually fun to drive.Airaid 310-508 PowerAid Throttle Body SpacerFlowmaster 17458 Cat-back System - Single Side Exit - Force II - Mild SoundK&N 57-1546 FIPK Performance Air Intake Systemall purchased from AutoPartsWAY.i actually called airaid and they told me that did not make a throttle body spacer for dakota. but with little research i found out jeep used the same throttle body as dakotas. they do make spacers for jeeps. so know i have airaid TB spacer in my truck.combination of these upgrades and custom throttle body (bigger intake custom milled) the truck fly down the street. no delay no hesitation what so ever. touch the peddle and it put you back in the seat. thank god i put in new breaks and master cylinder.only thing left...
-
Perfect fit on my 87 Camaro IROC-Z. The bend angles and hangers fit exactly, easy to install. Price for this system was far less than expected, quality was outstanding.
-
I had this on my wish list for some time and was hesitant about buying it because there was really nothing wrong with my OEM exhaust, except that the only time I could hear my V8 was under hard acceleration.I looked at several stainless cat back systems and this was the only one I found that the exhaust exits in the rear (original location). I expected that it would be a quality system, and was not surprised to find that every piece was of very good quality. I had to cut the original pipe in a couple places to just to remove it, but every piece of this Flowmaster system went together perfectly. The bends in the pipe are smoother than the original and the pipe is only slightly larger diameter.Once I got everything installed, I started the engine and could hear a little bit of a low rumble at start up, then quiet as stock at idle. The low tone under normal driving isn't loud but it's just audible enough to hear it, but it sounds really serious when I get on...
-
Hi Everybody ! This Series 70 is louder in a regular cab than an extended cab . It sounds like a louder series in my regular cab . Bear that in mind . Wider pipes might bepart of the loudness but I will probably put another silencer on this set . My previous Series 70 was much quieter and seemed like it had more midrange . This set is notcar alarm setting off loud but it will wake up the neighbors once in a while .F150 w 4.9L 2 1/2 inch pipes , F250 regular cab w 3 inch pipes . I do have another race cat for it and maybe that will take some of the bell clanging loudness down .I was expecting the old Mach 1 rumble I got with the F150 but this is more cherry bomb Camero and I'm disappointed .
-
I purchased this item for my 2010 Camaro. The sound is far better and deeper than stock. The only issue I had is that the tips do not extend out from the rear fender as much as i'd like. In other words, the tips are a little short. And they are welded on so they are not as easy to change out. The sound is not loud when normal driving or cruising down the highway. But gets loud when you get on the gas. I haven't noticed much difference in the gas mileage or hp. But i'm definitely glad I purchased them.
-
Provided the perfect sound on my V8 4runner. Perfect fit quality is all there. Nice moderate sound under normal acceleration. Comes alive under full throttle .
-
Excellent exhaust system to replace the stock system. I've gotten increased power and better fuel mileage since installation. I did the installation in less than 1 hour.
-
Installed this system this past weekend. As the other reviewer stated the instructions and description above need some adjusting for Quad Cabs trucks. This is not a true CAT BACK system. The CAT on my truck is part of the Y-pipe so I separated at the back of the Y-pipe as you would expect. Turns out that if you separate there you are short on pipes (33 inches)to make it all the way to the back. Looking back at the instructions it stated to remove in front of the inlet to the muffler (my mistake there). Not a big deal here because that connection was so bad I would have needed to replace that pipe anyway. My solution was to run to the local auto part store grab a 2 1/2 inch x 36 inch straight pipe and install with the short extension piece from the kit with 3 inches lopped off it with a hacksaw. $25 extra for the pipe and clamps but well worth it. The system fits great and sounds meaty at low RPM then smooths out and quiets out nicely at highway speeds.
-
Very easy to install ...love it .took me 1 hour to install , fit better than factory muffler , will buy for my other trucks
-
I installed this system on my '05 chevy silverado and it sounds awesome! It fit well and I have had many compliments on it!
-
I did have to trim 4" from inlet pipe as instructions stated and I tack welded pipes because clamps would not hold pipes securely.Fits good, sounds good and no clearance problems.
-
this muffler is extremely easy to put on. just two bolts and a little lube(wd-40) to get the stock hanger out, it sounds great, not to loud or obnoxious but deeper and a little louder than stock. i've had it on the car for about 7 months and still sounds great but if I were to do it again I would sprat paint the whole pipe and muffler with hi temp paint because I was driving behind my wife (its her car) and notice that you can see the whole system while following the car and it looks weird and rusted out because only the can was painted on mine so now the rest of the piping is a different color. overall great sound great fitment but the whole thing needs painted not just the can.
-
This exhaust system was ordered to replace a pricier, MUCH louder Borla Stinger system. My car is heavily modified, and I needed to quiet it down to avoid being lynched by my neighbors.Like any exhaust kit with clamps, this was easy enough to install. It fits a lower-price need (aluminized steel vs stainless... Stainless is also available) and still sounds reasonably "aggressive" when accelerating.Things I'd change:The Borla system utilizes an extra clamped joint at the mid-pipe. This allows you to adjust where the tips are in the bumper cutouts, and it adds nothing to installation complexity. The Flowmaster tips sit at the same spot relative to each other, but I'd like to have them sit out a touch more.Speaking of the tips, it would be nice if they had rolled edges, or double-walled construction, or anything other than single-wall slash-cut stainless. It should look better than the result of welding mufflers into the stock system,...
-
Great product, very easy to install and works wonders. Definitely recommend this product, especially if you have a 3.0 or oversize tires.
-
Installed in an hour. My truck already had a cold air intake on it, and this Flowmaster exhaust topped it out beautifully. Acceleration is much smoother. The Hemi breathes better and the sound is music! It looks like mileage has improved, but I only have about 150 miles on the install - too early to tell for certain. Love it. Traction control is having more trouble stopping wheel spin.
-
Well, I will say, I was really conflicted between the American Thunder and Force II for my 2013 Charger R/T. I watched Youtube videos, but they suck at capturing the interior and exterior sound. This is the first time I've done anything with aftermarket exhaust as well, so I kept hearing about "drone" and how bad it was.So, I rolled the dice and ended up going with American Thunder, and I am glad I did. They sound fantastic, aren't terribly loud, and drone is minimal. I generally get a little drone around 2000-2200 RPM. And honestly, I like the sound. It isn't overwhelming at all, and I don't have it at highway cruising speeds. The exhaust itself is just load enough to let everyone know you have some power under the hood, but not loud enough to wake up the neighbors.Pros:-Sounds great-Definitive increase in low end and mid range power.-Increased mileage (after the floor it to hear it phase)-Easy to install at home with two...
-
So, I had a magnaflow setup prior to putting on the Flowmaster. Magnaflows are great, and it sounded really well; however, it was way too loud for my personal preference and droned way too much. The flowmaster has a truer tone to the sound of the engine, and almost has no drone. This is a great setup for your daily driver
-
easy install wanted a little bit of that flowmaster sound but not annoying drone at highway speed i got every thing i wanted out of this system nice little growl while accelerating and at idle really wanted a split rear dual exhaust but gibson sounded a little too loud for me very happy with this system and delivery was super fast great job by AutoPartsWAY
-
If you like a deep sounding exhaust system get this one. It is loud in a good way. Highly recommended!
-
Install on my 2010 ford explorer was easy.the hanger welded on before the tail pipe section is to long and will have to be cut so it does not hit the frame and put a heavy duty zip tie on the outside of the tail pipe hanger so it keeps theExhaust in place when going ver rough roads.(the larger pipe will hit the spare tire heat shield if this is not done)
-
I recently returned the Pypebombs and received the Outlaws yesterday and bolted them on last night. I am loving it. Low tone rumble when cruising and a kick in the face when I open it up. Precisely what I was looking for. I didn't have to tweak anything around to make sure both sides were centered out of the exits. So much easier than the pypes were.and so much better quality in the FlowMaster brand name. Took me less than one hour with literally with one arm (Shoulder surgery recently on left side) but I hope that paints a clear picture of the ease the Flowmasters provided. The sound is awesome and not obnoxious like the pypes were for me. If you disagree, read the reasons why I returned the pypes on my Pypes pypebomb review. How about a manly tone and rumble when cruising or idling rather than just a freeflow of s*** flying everywhere when idling or cruising? Outlaws is the way to go.

had it installed today at Meineke for about $50 bucks. This thing is way better than the rugged ridge/cherry bomb I had on my car. The baffles in that one broke so I got this one to replace it. Rugged Ridge is terrible about honoring the manufacturer warranty and luckily I bought it through AutoPartsWAY who replaced my system!Regardless, the flowmaster isn't nearly as loud as the rugged ridge but you can feel the difference. And when that thing growls...it growls like a lion on steroids. I love having the best of both worlds. The rugged ridge was just way too loud and it created a droning sound in my car. So far so good with the flowmaster....plus this thing has a LIFETIME WARRANTY!

i have a 2013 ford f-150 xl crewcab v6 3.5L ecoboost.its a v6 so i cant expect much from this exhaust..... its a flowmaster but it cant make my v6 sound like a v8. in any case i love how the truck sounds now... especially when turning it on. it cost me 180 bucks to install and the mechanic said it was a breeze to install it.i recommend it.
-
Took a little longer then expected for an instock item but it did arrive. Easy to install and sounds great. Would recommend it to anyone.
-
THE FIT, FINISH, AND SOUND WERE ALL 100%. INSTALL WAS EASY, HARDEST PART WAS FACTORY REMOVAL. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE THAT WANTS A SOLID SOUND OUT OF YOUR 5.0.
-
I bought this for my dakota last year and so far it is still sounding awesome with absolutely no problems. Though I will say this the sound makes you want to step on the gas every time so say bye bye to mpg.
-
The sound is excellent.. These went on my wife's car.. Simple instalation.. I couldn't be more pleased.. Got a system just like it on my 2011 Challenger R/T and I love it.. Actually quieter on the inside, but at the rear, it is all business. No drone whatsoever.. RP Eastman, Ga

This product met my expectations and exceeded them. I installed this exhaust in my very drive way. One trick is to make sure your sawzall is short because you won't be able to get the Camaro jacked up very high. I could have had a muffler shop install them but I didn't want to spend the $100 bucks on that, I'd rather spend it on the car on other upgrades for the car. I now have this exhaust on and a cold air intake system and let me tell you that the horses are free flowing now. This install was for my 2012 Camaro 2SS. Thanks Again AutoPartsWAY!
-
This product was ordered for a 2012 Camaro SS. It will ROAR once you crank up and as you accelerate. However, it mumbles when travel at speeds 20-40 mph. I still perfer that mumble over a quite camaro any day. Power is increased, but gas mileage will decrease due to aggressive driving to hear this system roar!
-
I bought a Mustang and wanted that extra "growl" to it so I decided on this system through different reviews on other sites. This absolutely did the trick! I get nothing but compliments from the sound now and I get some added hp to boot!
-
I thought I got the wrong one at first for my extended cab, but the muffler sits about two feet further back then original. Put the pipes in, attach the muffler to the pipes, and that's where it sits. I needed to buy two feet of inlet pipe to go between muffler and Cat, Once passed the confusion, the install was pretty simple and the instructions were helpful. The description and locations of mounting holes were dead on for my truck. Over all, less than a day to rip out the old and install the new CAT and pipes. They sounds really, really good. Very happy.
-
Loved this exhaust on my 5.0 explorer - great fitment! Great price and AWESOME sound. Getting the tailpipe on was hard but it all worked out
-
Installed on 2013 Avalanche. Awesome fit. I really like the sound. With highway driving, it is noticeable in the cab, but not loud at all. There is zero droning as well. Overall, I'm very happy. The only things I would change are slightly larger tips, and higher quality clamps. I think that the tips look a little small. You definitely pay a premium for the DIY kit, but if you want to do it, this one is great.
-
I was originally hesitant to buy the Outlaws and was leaning towards the American Thunder Classics because people kept saying how loud the Outlaws were and clips I listened to supported that; I also had a CAI and tune on the car which had already enhanced the exhaust note so that raised more concern that it would be overly loud. But, at the end of the day I figured I'd rather it be a bit too loud then be a bit too quiet and be disappointed. And that was the right decision. The Outlaws are loud-though to my ear IN the car they don't sound that loud-don't get me wrong, from stop up to pick your RPM, if you're accelerating you hear these and you hear them good. At idle you hear a decent grumble at all times which is exactly what I wanted yet once you're not accelerating any longer all you hear is a light exhaust note in the car (and I mean LIGHT); the only time these "drone" at crusing speeds, which I happen to like BTW, is at 80 mph and above or approx 2300 RPMs and up...
-
Sounds great, easy install with no lift even. The tips look great also, everything you need in the box. Would recommend this or any Flowmaster systems.
-
System sounds great but can be a pain to get bolted into place. Take plenty of beer breaks. But very pleased with it, although the neighbors may not be
-
The product and price was great. Installation was easily done. Sounds great! Will always consider flowmaster for all my cars.
-
If your on the fence about this product go ahead and jump over it. I just installed this on my 2012 Ram in about an hour. The sound is absolutely amazing. Just enough rumble for the muscle car sound but nice and quiet at cruising speeds with no drone. Flowmaster made an amazing direct bolt on product. The clamps are solid and the truck has no exhaust leaks. Oh and very fast shipping from AutoPartsWAY.
-
I purchased this item for my 2002 Chevy Silverado extended cab short bed truck with the 5.3 Liter v-8 engine. The item was packaged very well from flowmaster and it sounds awesome. The installation was a little tricky; you're going to want to put the truck on a lift if at all possible. I had to flex the two pipes apart to get them in the exit side of the muffler and, the tips were not exactly level when installed so that took a little extra bending with a pry bar. Due to the excellent quality of the kit, I was able to tweak and bend the exhaust without any damage being done what so ever. I thought that the interior noise was a little louder than I was expecting but it totally sounds cool.
-
Installed on 2010 super cab 5.4 F150, great lower end bass note with minimal cab drone up through the RPM range, measure twice and cut once if you are required to (check instructions) and installation is easy with a lift. If no lift is available a hacksaw or other tool may be required to get the old exhaust off.
-
2001 F250 Super Duty, V10, Super CabThe previous reviewer apparently is clueless. The whole system is stainless as advertised including the muffler. The exhaust hangers went right into the stock hanger locations without any bending. The only customization needed on my truck was to replace a section of previously custom-bent pipe between the cat and the muffler inlet with straight pipe from the local parts stores. It was also necessary to hang the muffler vertically as it was too wide to fit in the exhaust heat shield (the original factory muffler was a cylinder, not an oval).Took me about two hours to remove the old system with a sawz-all, figure out what size pipe I needed from the local parts store, drive there and back, then install everything. Did it in the driveway without a lift which would have made it a lot easier. Now, it's off the get the truck inspected this week so I can get plates renewed!!!
-
I feel my 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 diesel gained 10 more horsepower and 20 lbs torque.BUT my engine has its power at 1,200 RPM's instead of 2,000 RPM's. The engine has its power instantly instead of higher RPM's. All you need is the free flow muffler I think. But I did the 4" exhaust plus the muffler.
-
I installed this on my 08 jeep liberty yesterday and it fits awesome, sounds great and I love it. everything you need is included took less than an hour literally in my uncles one car garage. AWESOME.
-
This exhaust is literally the best ever because it sounds very mean for my bird!! I give it 100 out of 10. I had some minor modifications that took an hour long to do which was painful to do but the outcome was very good! Love this flowmaster!
-
Orgasim to your ears. Panty dropper start up and purrs like a lion on the road. I love this exhaust!
-
Got this item before the price increase. What a great value from AutoPartsWAY. The system fits great and sounds awesome on my convertible! Highly recommend this system. Just the right amount of that infamous Flowmaster growl to sound tough but not offensively loud. Made my SS six speed manual sound like it deserves to, like a true musclecar. Easy installation! Great fit and finish!
-
Getting the factory off was not as easy as I would have liked however I was able to do it alone in a little over 2hrs with just jack stands and wrenches. Before dropping the exhaust remove the two rectangular exhaust hole one the back bumper I was able to get it off without doing this but it would have prevented a lot of language......The install was a breeze it literally took about 15 minutes. I do recommend jacking the exhaust up if you don't have a friend to help with the alignment here again I did it by using my legs to support it but a jack would have been easier. This exhaust is very loud and at first had a slightly high pitched drone after about a week it mellowed out and sounds great. I think most who are complaining are doing so premature remember there are still oils on the metal from machining after the smell went away from those burning off it sounds great. Eco mode can sound a bit weird sometimes but you can always put it in autos tick it...
-
This system is not loud or droning. It has a nice powerful sound without any raspy tin can sounds. The pipes are heavy. The hangers and pipe clamps are really beefy. Comes with a heat shield to strap around the muffler held on by stainless steel worm clamps (really big hose clamps).Only issue I've had is that when I installed the last piece of tailpipe I got the positioning wrong and the spring sometimes scrapes the side of the tailpipe. 15 seconds of attention on my part would have prevented that from happening (my bad).
-
For the price with super saving shipping, I don't think you can find a better product.I bought this for my 05 lariat and installed it in about an hour and a half. Also know that I am not very mechanically inclined so to say it was easy is an under statement. I haven't driven on the highway yet to see the MPG gains but I see about a 1.5 to 2 MPG gain in the city so I can't complain. I love the sound and can feel the power gain. I'd recommend this product to everyone.
-
This exhaust system was exactly what I was looking for. Bought a 2012 4Runner Limited 4x4. Install was a little tricky, mainly because you really need to have the vehicle up in the air to remove the stock exhaust. Mild sound interiorly, so you do not lose the luxery of the Limited trim. Exterior sounds great, you know its a Flowmaster. Very happy with the purchase. Delivery of item was great, box was not damaged a single bit!
-
I put this on a 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail edition/V6/TRD cold air intake/< 1000 miles. I am replacing the restrictive OEM exhaust. Am I happy with it?! Yes, I am! Look, it's not a V8 rumble(and I wasn't expecting it either). But, it does have a rumble. It put a smile on my face. MPG wise; I'll finish breaking the motor in ETC... I'm not expecting miracles MPG wise, but every little bit helps. I'm planning to go on some 4X4 trails in Colorado. Cheers. See you on the trail!
-
I have a V6 Tacoma(125K miles): Long Bed(6.1 feet)/Double Cab/Tonneau cover. I didn't expect a Thunderous V8 ROAR! But, for what it is, I'm happy! It put a smile on my face. Together with A TRD cold air intake, and throttle body spacer, it has noticably improved throttle response. The main reason for the exhaust was to replace the restrictive OEM exhaust. Waiting to see about MPG(not expecting miracles...common sense), but every little bit helps. Get it! ENJOY!
-
The item is good as the description and it arrived pretty fast too.The exhaust system is ideal for muscle cars and it sounds really nice when accelerate and idle. This exhaust system truly brings back the life of a muscle car.
-
Great product for the price. I put this on my 1996 C1500 Suburban and it is working great. Great sound and flow, but doesn't affect rider comfort at all, even in the third row. Improved throttle response. My only knock on it that the hanging brackets could be a little better by adding a slight angle at the end. Another thought: I'm thinking of having this welded, not required but it would only be in 3 spots and would increase its durability. AutoPartsWAY had the best price and shipping. I live in Hawaii and it was way cheaper to purchase at AutoPartsWAY then on the economy, add in free shipping at it's even better!
-
My truck came from the factory with no catalytic converter so I called Flowmaster customer service directly and asked if this would work or should I get another type. I was told this was the one to get and it would attach directly to the factory cat delete pipe so I ordered it. Got a great deal with free shipping from AutoPartsWAY and received it fast. When my mechanic cut off my factory system and went to install this he found the factory delete pipe to be 3 1/2 inches and this exhaust is 4 inches so I had to scramble and buy an adapter pipe and clamp at an additional cost of $35 and time to order and get them. Aside from that it installed easily and perfectly. It is not too loud which is what I wanted (sounds factory at start up and idle)as I do long trips and want to hear the radio and talk to my passengers. I do notice the performance when I step on it and the milage is good. I would recommended over the factory exhaust system.
-
I purchased this kit received it on time (of course it's AutoPartsWAY). I scuffed the rest of the piping and flanges and gave em two coats of hi temp enamel so they wouldn't rust before install. Everything went together just as expected. Quality bends, welds looked gorgeous. They even used tougher flanges. Nothing was missing, as usual they tossed in a few flowmaster stickers for good measure. Excellent sound. Sounds like a cage fighter with table manners. I get looks everywhere I go because of the unique sound.Thank you flowmaster and AutoPartsWAYCP
-
Bought this for a 2012 Ford F-150 FX4. Fairly easy install, if you are comfortable with basic hand tools. Did it with truck on the ground, raised 2" with some bricks under all 4 tires. Gives you enough clearance to twist out the stock pipe in one piece. The Flowmaster system goes in much easier than the stock comes out. Sound is great, aggressive when you want it to be. A little louder in the cab than stock, but that is to be expected since it it much louder outside the truck. So far no complaints. Have been running it for about a month now.
-
System was easy to install. It took me longer to remove the old exhaust mess than to physically set the new system in place. One evening spent doing that, the next spent clamping everything in place, making sure the tail pipes were even (I'm picky) and tack-welding all the joints as extra insurance. This system conveniently used the center factory exhaust mounts and provided the two rear mounts with the kit.The sound of the system is great; I was replacing a rusted-out Flowmaster setup and this new system sounds similar to the old one. The kit's instructions should include a warning...."Use safety glasses when lying on your back under your vehicle using a sawz-all to cut old, rusted-out exhaust pipes..." or maybe that should be self-explanatory...!I highly recommend the kit. Buying it on AutoPartsWAY for $100 less than Flowmaster's website cost and $50 less than Summit Racing's cost didn't hurt either (neither did the free shipping!).
-
We wanted something that sounded nice but wasn't over the top. This has a good tone to it and the highway noise isn't obnoxious. Great middle of the road product. We had to have it professionally installed as old piping on 2006 Silverado had to be cut to be removed.
-
Best price anywhere and the quality and sound (not to loud) is outstanding. I removed my old exhaust and installed the new one in about 2 hours. At the bottom of the install procedures it said; if you live in a cold climate, it's recommended you have the exhaust welded. I called a local muffler shop and they welded the entire exhaust for only $30.00! What a deal!
-
Product was everything I hoped it would be. My Challenger R/T now has the deep "thrum" a muscle car should have, but without being excessively loud, so it is acceptable in an upscale neighborhood. I researched all the possible cat back options, heard all the soundtracks, and chose this one due to the sound, and the price, which was the best price for any of the options I'd reviewed. My Dodge dealer installed the system for me, and according to their Technician, the Flowmaster Force II actually fit the car better, and was easier to install, than the comparable MOPAR cat back system.
-
I have a similar American Thunder set on my 2005 and 2008 Ram. I bought this for my 2012. Price was substantially cheaper than Summit Racing, free shipping (no handling charge). Pipes are stainless steel (older versions were aluminized). Sound is great. Not so loud as to worry about a ticket, unless you live in an overly strict area. The system installs very quickly. I had one stock pipe stuck, so it took longer than the other two sets to install, but still accomplished in under an hour. WD-40 or Liquid wrench on the joints helps to remove your stock pipes, along with a dead blow hammer if necessary. You don't need to weld, as the clamps are top notch, but I put a couple of 1" tack welds at each joint. Definately weld on the tips so nobody steals them.
-
I ordered the Flowmaster 817528 CatBack Exhaust for my 2013 Camaro and it fit perfectly and sounds great. It took an hour to install and gives me that deep rumble sound that I was looking for in a performance exhaust. I would recommend Flowmaster to everyone.
-
Wasn't ready to get a catback system, but wanted a more aggressive sound from my car. This system fit the bill perfectly. Gives it a nice rumble at idle, and a great sound on acceleration.Installation was a breeze for me, simply measure, cut, install, fine tune the fit. didn't take long at all, and I was back on the road.As always a top notch product from Flowmaster
-
Absolutely LOVE this product!!!! Was exactly what was stated in the listing and was equally easy to install. Sounds AMAZING!!! on my truck and I have already recommended this product to lots of my friends and family!!!
-
This Cat-Back compliments my entire exhaust system (MAC Long Tube Headers, Catted H-Pipe) on my '03 Mach 1. This by far isn't the loudest cat-back but I'm not looking for too much attention from the authorities. Overall a nice classic Flowmaster tone.
-
I had this system installed on my 2001 Dodge Dakota 2WD, 5 speed manual, V6, extended cab pickup. It sounds great. Time will tell if the gas mileage gets better. The muffler is suppose to be 2 1/2 inch inlet and outlets. My friend bought the same one 4 weeks prior and both systems came with a muffler that has a 3 inch outlet and tailpipe. Price is great, but parts are not as described.
-
Just a quick note about installing this system on a Dodge Dakota club or quad cab.The kit comes with two intermediate pipes -- one short, one long. The instructions say to use the shorter one for the regular cab OR the longer one for the extended/quad cab. You have to use both of them, but luckily an "extra" clamp is included in the kit. More clamps = more opportunities for leaks, so I wish they'd just send a "long" pipe that's about 6" longer, but alas.Overall it's the same quality Flowmaster parts and it sounds great.
-
I purchased this product on Sunday night and received it on Friday, installed it Friday night....WOW, does this exhaust sound incredible! It has a pretty deep "throaty" sound to it right from the start so it should sound even better after it starts getting some use on it.I drove it for a short periord only so far after installation which only took around 2 hours start to finish with the removal of the factory exhaust. It sounds great from a stop and once the truck gets through all the gears it is very calm so a conversation can still be held a normal level. All in all, two thumbs up...THANK YOU AutoPartsWAY and Flowmaster for a great sound to my 2010 Ford F-150 Lariat Crew cab with 68 inch bed.(SHAMELESS PLUG FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR A DIRECT FIT for the same vehicle)
-
Installed on 2012 Challenger RT Plus, this exhaust system provides a mellow tone that is not over the top and won't cause the neighbors to hate you when you leave early in the morning. Had them professionally installed and was worth what it cost. The instructions are straight forward and there are plenty of videos out there to look at, but without a lift it would be a difficult install in my opinion. The only issue encountered during the install was a couple of exhaust leaks, despite the clamps being fully tightened two of the connections leaked. This was easily remedied by welding all of the connections. Best price I could find was on AutoPartsWAY, product was delivered quickly and without damage.
-
The exhaust looks good, the installation was simple, and the sound is excellent. This was a great buy for the money.
-
I bought this exhaust system for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. Shipping was fast and the kit was received in good condition. It took about 1 hour to install and had all the necessary hardware included. The fit was exact and all the hangers lined up perfectly with all the mounts on the truck body. all the pipes and the muffler where thick walled and heavy. This system will outlast the truck. Sounds great too.
-
1st I want to say This is a Great Price for a stainless steel piped cat-back system! For just under $400 You really can't go wrong. If you're looking for new exhaust and don't want nothing obnoxious (just a nice deep rumble) This is for you!I would highly recommend this especially to buy it on AutoPartsWAY. (on flowmaster's site This kit will run you $678.80 + shipping!)2nd Installation was a breeze, although its nice when you have two people, I had my spare tire out and It gave me plenty of room to work, Infact You don't have to cut the old one at all. The most difficult part of this was removing the old system, my two bolts were so rusted one of the nuts was nearly rusted off the other wouldn't budge (Even after spraying it with penetrating oil the day before and applying heat to it) I ended up just cutting them off and drilling on the pressed in bolts and replaced them with standard stainless steel Hex head bolts.Overall I'm really happy I did this system on...
-
My son who is a car buff recommend this muffler and told me about how great it would sound on my 2012 6-speed Camaro SS 45th Edition. He hit the nail on the head with this one! The sound is great and I certainly get the looks when I am driving. I have to say Flowmaster hit a home-run on this exhaust system. I give it 5 stars! You will not be disappointed!
-
Bought these for my 2007 mustang. Installation was easy (two bolts per hangar, two hangars per side) and painless (except that two bolts easily snapped when taking off my stock mufflers, but that's another story). The beauty of these is that they are not as wide as the stock mufflers, so it is easier to install them since you have direct access to all of the hangar bolts. The stock mufflers make it harder to get to some of the bolts, so be prepared to need to use a smaller ratchet set or a wrench to get to some of them.As far as the mufflers go, these are the most aggressive Flowmasters. They have an excellent sound from outside of the car and to the rear. I was immediately surprised by how much more noticeable it was inside the cabin of the car. After driving it for a bit, the harmonics from the driver's seat made it such that my head and inner ear hurt. :-( In the back seat, it sounded perfect. Driver's side and passenger, great sound, but it did slowly hurt...
-
Sounds really good. Not as loud as others have said. My car is a automatic so the drone is not really bad. You have a little drone at 80-85 mph. But again not as bad as other reviews from different people. Installtion took less than an hour and fitment was real good. If you want a good throaty exhaust then this one is perfect. For the price and sound this exhaust is the best bang for the buck. Really throaty and it is load but not overwhelming by no means.
-
Great buy !!! Wish the system could have been a little bit louder but over all i would give it a 7 out of 10 sounds great and it improved my gas milage by about 4 gallons a mile. I cant tell if it increased my HP. Oh ya very simple install if you are mechanily inclinded at all as long as your old system isint rusted on thank god mine wasint but new flowmaster was a great fit. The force 2 has more of a deap throaty sound but it no were near loud enough to wake the nabors up in the morning, not sure if i would go with the american thunder just because its the loudest one that flowmaster makes i didnt want my 300c sounding like a truck with strait pipes anyways. Over all it was a defanant improvment from the stock exhaust.
-
First off, with little mechanical skills, it still took less than three hours. Laid out the pipes and muffler first, then started to disassemble the existing exhaust system. No welding required (but the instructions do note that it would be wise to have the joints welded and painted if you live in a inclimate area). An impact wrench is a must because the clamps have to be really dogged down - much tighter than I thought. After getting everything mounted loosely, went back and tightened everything down. Hardest part is getting everything symetrical. Since I opted for rear exhaust, it is even more important and you have to work front to back. It's close, but it may require a pro to get it perfect and then weld the joints. Overall, its a great kit and easy to mount, but may need an experienced hand to get it on exactly right. I doubt any other system goes on so smoothly or sounds as nice. And I have a nice little .5 mpg bump!
-
The flowmaster sounds great. Took a little cutting to make it fit but not too bad. Had to take and inch off the tail pipe and an inch off the small adapter. The seller shipped this system very quickly and it arrived in a few days.
-
Great product, near perfect fitment, and no issues at all with the great deep american tone i was looking for. i highly recommend this item!
-
I installed this system on a 2012 Toyota Tundra CrewMax 4x4. Installation took about two hours alone without any special tools or lifts. The supplied clamps take a lot of torque to seat properly. I thought I had them torqued sufficiently until a tail section rotated on me during installation. I went back with an 1/2" drive cordless impact and got them all snugged up nice and tight. I also used a ratcheting box end wrench to install the additional tail support for the driver side.I like that it has a nice throaty roar without being overly aggressive.
-
Very nice sound around town, sounds wicked on acceleration, and nice and quiet when cruising the highway. Installation was good, as you piece it together. Tips are nice, though they look a little wimpy, compared to the 4 and 5 inch stuff out there, but thats what keeps it quiet and drone free when cruising.......it's a very good all around system.
-
Exhaust system box came damaged with missing component - Flowmaster came through and sent item very quickly. I contacted AutoPartsWAY and CS issued a partial refund..My local muffler shop installed for $60 and boy what a difference. On startup it has a nice rumble, and when you hit it's sweet up around 1-2K RPM it has a moderate rumble. No cabin droin to contend with, so this one is a keeper.
-
Flowmaster makes a quality product, fairly easy to install. They look better than the stock mufflers and sound great at idle and under hard acceleration. But at steady lower rpm's they have an annoying droning sound.
-
This is a very good system overall. It's relatively easy to install for the do it yourself person. There is however one very important piece missing to complete the installation. It came with no Reducers. I didn't know until I opened the box. I had to order them separately, delaying completion by about two weeks. You also have to pay someone to weld the reducers onto the pipes to connect to the Headers unless you are a Welder also. I suggest that this important part be included or be noted that the Reducers aren't included with the system when ordering. It would be great to know this ahead of time as opposed to finding out upon inventory the box when its delivered. I still think its a very good system that sounds even better than the description.
-
This exhaust kit provided the perfect interior and exterior tone I was looking for in a dual exhaust system for my Dakota. The dual side exit exhaust looks amazing and gives the truck a nice deep rumble, without being overly loud and annoying. My friend likened the interior noise to that of the beautiful hum of a Ducati engine.Installation wasn't hard at all, I'd never done any form of exhaust work before, and the two of us did just fine with a couple jacks and a socket wrench. Took us ~3-4 hours to complete everything, but that was mainly due to lack of power tools, and a stubborn bolt. (if you're looking at having a mechanic install it for you, be prepared to dish out upwards of $300)Powerwise, the truck feels a little more responsive, and the HP and torque gains around 4k-5k RPM is noticeable to say the least.Totally worth it :)One other note.. don't forget to remove the stickers on the pipes with some form of adhesive remover,...
-
Stainless is the only way to go. I have rusted out two after market aluminized Flow Master systems on this Silverado. They only lasted exactly five years each. This system fits perfectly and the clamps are the best that I have ever used! Had to heat up the nuts on the trucks o.e.m...Y pipe with a Mapp torch. Leave these nuts loose, assemble the whole system and tighten the two Y pipe nuts last. Sound is a little quiet side.
-
Let me start by saying it was a breeze to install, very good instructions, and everything lined up as it should. This is my first exhaust and i didn't want any overbearing sound and the 70 series muffler with the included resonator fit the bill. Hardly any sound while idling, and a nice growl upon accelerating. The truck accelerates quicker with a slight gain in power which makes it more fun to drive. While cruising the exhaust is barely audible inside the cab and no annoying drone. The sound it emits may not be "loud" enough for some, but if you don't want to wake up the neighborhood as you leave for work in the morning, this is your system.
-
The 2011 Mustang Gt 5.0 is a mean car. With 412Hp what better way to show off the meaness by being heard. Well the stock exhaust wasn't loud at all, and would only be heard if you were at wide open throttle. It was time for a new exhaust, and wow so many choices to choose from. Some cheap and some ridiculouly expensive. I found Flowmaster Outlaw Axle-back and I knew this would be the one. At $300 dollars you cant beat it. Shipping was fast. Installation took about 30-60 Min, Cranking up the car the first time was beautiful. My Mustang went from sounding like a Prius to a NASCAR.The sound is unbelievable !!!! The interior and Out sound the way a Mustang Should !!Yes this exhaust is ridiculously loud !! But a Good Loud :)Flowmaster did an OUTSTANDING Job with this muffler.I was considering Borla S-type, and Even Roush! Wow I got these on Oct 20th and next day took them to have them install by my mufflerman. My 2011 Mustang Gt 5.0pre-owned came with Flo's American Thunders. Well they sounded ok, but I think the car was a girl's car, just sounded too tame for me. The remove & replace took about 30 minutes and cost me $20 bucks.Well after the car was lowered from the lift and turned on the ignition. A new life was born in the soundof 5.0 420 HP, my oh my what a sound!!! It sounded like no other axle back I've heard. Very deep, andpowerful like a BIG BLOCK but this is 302 CI/5.0. In the last year I heard many 5.0's, many, very raspy,to stock sounding, stainless steel or whatever. These sound like no others, very unique especailly at FT& going through the gears. There is not too much inside the bad dogs, just sound.I recommend taking them a muffler shop and spending 30 minutes to remove & replace. It's quicker and theinstaller doesn't tweek them to...

Bought this system several weeks ago. Had it installed at local shop near house (Cost was $150, total price $560 installed). Recommend pro install, as most shops weld vs. clamping it together. Main consideration was price and a few other favorable reviews. Also is relatively inexpensive performance mod when combined with CAI.Overall I'm Satisfied. From a performance perspective noticed a definite pick-up in mid to higher rpm end acceleration i.e. from 40-50 mph upward. Its nothing to go from 50 to 85-90 mph. On the low end seems like there was some loss of power (others had mentioned this in their reviews). Supposed to get better MPG, but will have to wait and see if that holds true, since I've been getting on more than usual. Sounds great, but has some drone between 35-45 mph. This goes away at higher speed (above 50 mph) and isn't much worse than original stock system. Thinking about better brakes (performance calipers/rotors, etc) all the way around to improve stopping...

These took two hours to install on a mustang because the hanger bracket nuts were hard to get to. These mufflers have a deep tone, especially at low rpms when cruising. You can hear these mufflers from far away but the sound is nice and smooth. I looked at the hushpower mufflers and I'm glad I got these instead. A friend of mine said these mufflers sounded better than his porsche turbo exhaust system. I also have a BBK cold air intake which probably makes them louder.

This exhaust hits an awesome note. I put it on myself in an hour and found it cheapest here on AutoPartsWAY. I have buddies that spent 6 and 7 hundred dollars for their exhaust and mine sounds better. Do not be afriad of this exhaust being too loud or having a drone. It is perfect if you want to hear your cars exhaust.

This is a great sounding system, fits great, easy install. But be careful in your buying options or you will encounter the rudeness of wUnderCarParts LLC. I made the mistake of purchasing through them instead of AutoPartsWAY to save a few bucks. When they screwed up my shipment, I found out where they cut costs- service after the sale. They were nothing short of rude and disrespectful and I will never purchase from them again. Next time I'll stick with AutoPartsWAY.com as the seller. Thanks for nothing wUnderCarParts LLC.

I'm not saying that this is the best exhaust out there, but if you get in on sale like I did its a nice product for the price. With all the cats on the truck it's pretty quiet at idle,(a little loud than stock) has a noticeable rumble at part throttle, and is fairly loud at WOT. I think it would sound better if they used a couple of 40 series mufflers instead with a crossover in front of them instead of the single 50 series muffler. Still I think it sounds pretty good, and nowhere near as bad as many Flowmaster haters make it out to be.

2004 V6 Mustang: I decided to spend the extra money on Flowmaster than going cheap with MAC and it was worth every penny. If you're thinking about putting dual exhaust on a 6 cyl this is the catback to go with. I used the Pacesetter Adapter Kit to convert my stock Y Pipe to an H and bolted this catback right up. It's not raspy and gives that low rumble (nothing is going to give you the sound of two more cylinders but this gets pretty darn close)great tone, and great sounding exhaust. Go for it! ;)Also though, if you do convert a 6 cyl to true dual exhaust you will need one more hanger for the passenger's side (since this kit is made for a GT it doesn't include one) but the shop I took mine too just welded the bracket holding the tailpipe to the car and it fixed my problem.

Great quality exhaust! I had it installed in my driveway in 45 minutes. Exactly what I wanted for sound. Nice and mellow. I have a 00 Explorer Limited V8 AWD so I did not want obnoxious. Perfect system!!!Mike

Great sound. Installer needed to put spot welds on a couple pipes. Great sound and good looking system

This cat back system exceeded my expectations. From the quality of the packaging, to the fit and sound I am very pleased with this purchase. It took me 2 hours to remove the leaking system and install this kit. Everything fit without modifications. The longest task was unbolting the cat flange. Next time I would soak those two nuts with penetrating oil in advance. I would recommend this kit to others.

Dual exhaust from Flowmaster really enhanced the muscle car feel and looks for my new Dodge Challenger

Looks good,Sounds good, easy install.I didn't want something too loud,I use this truck for towing and hauling and this mildsystem was just what I wanted.

Easy install. Just a tick or two louder than factory original exhaust system. No reverbe thru the cab should keep the passangers happy.

I installed this flowmaster exhaust on my 2003 5.4L V8 F-250. The instructions were pretty easy to follow but I ended up looking up some videos on youtube for more detail. Once I got started it only took about three hours to install with the most difficult steps being removing the stock hangar bearings and cutting the tailpipe (not necessary if you have it on a lift and detach the shock). If you are remotely mechanically inclined you can do the install yourself pretty easily and save some money. I didn't weld but used the included clamps which work fine. The tone coming from the flowmaster 70 series is a nice and moderate (can still easily carry a conversation but much deeper than stock). I combined this install with a K&N CAI and a superchips tuner, with all three I noticed significant increases in performance.
