  • Hypertech is a technology-driven company with a unique status in the aftermarket industry. Unlike other speed equipment manufacturers that produce hard parts like camshafts and cylinder heads, our core product is knowledge; the ability to tune the complex computers that control essential functions in modern automobiles. We have invested in people, not machinery. The knowledge and skill of the Hypertech team are our most valuable assets. Our staff of engineers and technicians has degrees in a variety of disciplines, including electrical engineering, computer science, and mechanical engineering. Hypertech people know computers from the inside out! The Hypertech team is passionate about performance. We have racers, hot rodders, and performance enthusiasts on our staff. You'll find modified trucks and street machines in our employee parking lot. We build project cars and use our trucks for towing on weekends. We come from different backgrounds, but we have all learned to appreciate the tremendous power of electronic engine controls to improve performance on the street as well as on the race track.

Hypertech is the technology leader in high-performance engine tuning computer-controlled vehicles. Electronic engine controls have evolved rapidly since their introduction in the early '80s. Hypertech has kept pace with these rapid advances in technology by developing power tuning products that take advantage of the capabilities of these electronic controls. Early automotive computers used replaceable PROMs or "chips" to calibrate the Electronic Control Module (ECM) for a specific engine, powertrain, and vehicle combination. Hypertech created the original Power Chips to recalibrate these electronic "brains" for improved performance.

Later generations of Electronic Control Units (ECU) eliminated calibration chips. Instead, engine tuning information is stored in the unit's programmable memory. In addition to controlling basic engine functions, microprocessors now monitor and govern a wide range of systems, including the transmission, brakes, instrument panel, emission controls, and heating/air conditioning. For comparison, the code stored in an early chip would fill one page; now a typical ECU contains more than 1,600 pages of code!

Hypertech created the Power Programmer to access this "flash" memory and download the Hypertech Power Tuning program directly into the ECU's programmable memory.

In addition to controlling engine functions such as air/fuel mixture, spark timing, and maximum rpm, these highly evolved ECUs also regulate transmission shift points and firmness, limit top speed, and display speedometer and odometer readings. Hypertech's engineers were able to use these capabilities to provide additional features for enthusiasts. The Power Programmer is much more than a tuning chip - it is a self-contained automotive tuning computer. The Power Programmer automatically installs the powerful Hypertech tuning program. It also allows enthusiasts to access and reprogram the vehicle's computer to function properly with aftermarket components such as non-stock wheels, tires, and rearend ratios. A Hypertech Power Programmer is really the most powerful and versatile tool a performance enthusiast can own!

Today Hypertech Power Tuning products span the spectrum of automotive technology. We continue to offer our famous Power Chips for older vehicles while constantly updating our Power Programmers for the latest cars and trucks on the market.

As the power of digital systems expands, Hypertech will continue to design and manufacture power tuning products that are on the cutting edge of technology.

I bought this Hypertech 52500 Tuner, but had an issue with my 1999 Dodge Ram with a Cummings engine at first. I contacted Hypertech Tech Support and they were extremely helpful to me with getting this tuner to work. It made a HUGE difference in the power and performance in my truck. It is like giving the engine a shot of "B-12 Vitamins"...it increased my HP on setting number 2 by 40HP. You can't go wrong with the Hypertech Tuner. The biggest thing is don't try to buy one that is used off eBay or Craigslist. I had bought one off eBay thinking I could save some money and found out that tuner was not returned back to factory settings...so I could not use it...seller refunded my money and paid for return shipping.

This tuner has done quite the improvement on my 350z. I was amazed and how loud my engine got and how well it could breathe and perform.Keep in mind this tuner is effective after have installed a CAI and perofrmance exhaust. I also had other mods done to it which were cost effective and made up for the cost of this tuner.Recommend it!

Installed this on my 2011 dodge charger rt.Holy sh#t. Huge difference in power and acceleration . Simply amazing. I will also let you know that this was combined with a flowmaster American thunder exhaust system and a airaid intake. All 3 combined and this thing is simply put, the beast it should have been from the factory. 5 stars. Only issue is the wire routing will tale a while. After driving the car i have also noticed that my exhaust has gotten considerably louder. Awesome

Easy install...took about 40 minutes total for installing the Engine Harness and the Gas Pedal Harness. Very noticeable difference in throttle response and car performance. I'm still checking to see if any MPG differences, but I haven't had the Interceptor installed that long to really notice any changes...either more or less. The Engine Harness is easy to install and does not alter your ECU/Engine Computer....hence, does not leave any flashes on your car's computer that may cause problems with your Chrysler Dealer when you take your car in for servicing. The Throttle Pedal (gas pedal) Harness requires you to remove 2 clips under the dash and remove a panel...then you have easy access to the Throttle Pedal plug and can install the Interceptor Harness with no problems. Reinstall the panel and two clips...done.Either Harness can be installed as a stand-alone upgrade...you don't have to install both to realize a performance improvement over...

Its a great ad on to any vehicle. I installed this on My 09 chevy 1500 5.3 v8 Silverado and noticed a great increase in response and wasn't delayed like stock was and saw an increase of 1-2 mpg i would recommend this to everyone look to make a first step in performance.

Purchased this for my 1997 Chevy Dually with a 7.4L 454 Vortec. Make no doubt about it, this programmer brings the motor to life. You DO have to run premium fuel for this tuner but it does make a difference. The Hypertech Programmer was not the only mod I made though to my vehicle. I added a K&N Cold Air Intake as well as a Flowmaster 50 series muffler. My truck feels better then ever now! While there may be better tunes out there (especially customs) it's going to be very hard to beat this product as far as plug and play tuners go. I pull a toy hauler with my truck and it's made an incredible difference. I was getting just over 6 mpg before all my mods and now I'm over 10. I'm a happy camper!

If you are looking to open up a few extra horses then look no further. This will not change your everyday commuter into a dragster but it will give it some added pep. If you do have to update you will need to have your vehicle set to its stock configuration. After that its easy as 1-2-3. After testing a couple of different setting for shift points and firmness I found what works for me. Most importantly I was able to shut off that annoying AFM mode (V-4). Anyone who has the 5.3 should want to trade minimal mpg loss for the longevity of their engine. From first hand experience (2010 Tahoe) plus I have read many complaints about the AFM system on this particular engine and it always ends with a frustrated customer or another engine biting the dust. I'm hoping that this little baby adds some some longevity to it because I love my Suburban but hate that stupid AFM mode. 1 month later no vibration from AFM along with added horses. I'm sold. No complaints.

Instructions are easy to follow and product is easy to install. Does increase acceleration 0-60. Once installed, start the engine and let the product "get to know" the car by simply letting it idle for a few minutes (5 minutes) and then it is ready to drive.

2 things should be disclosed when buying this: 1- even though this programmer might be correct for your application, be prepared that it may not have the program you need loaded and ready-to-go. This is easily rectified by updating via the supplied software, or on Hypertech's website. 2- The software is not MAC compatible. This is only an issue if you live and work with MACs exclusively, but it should be mentioned on the website somewhere other than in the downloadable PDF instructions. But, after borrowing a PC and loading the update for my 2010 Silverado, the results are fantastic. A very noticeable increase in power, along with slightly better fuel economy. If you have a heavy right foot, you will be seeing the Traction Control light flashing a lot. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

I purchased this for my 01 Cummins. I primarily wanted to get this device to correct my speedometer & possibly get a little better fuel mileage out of my truck. After loading the "Stage 2" tune, I am now getting over 24MPG on the highway!! And better part, when I put my foot into it, you can clearly feel the power gain as-well. I went with the Hypertech over EDGE & other competitors, primarily because Hypertech actually posts legit Dyno results from their tunes(they also have youtube videos). I wasn't looking for any massive power gains, due to the restrictions of the Cummins weak fuel system, So I really feel like this was the best possible route. After knowing many people who have had issues with their EDGE devices, I think I have made an excellent choice. I highly recommend this tuner! You simply cannot go wrong.

2010 Dodge Nitro SE 4x4 3.7 EnginePros: Excellent program. It corrects everything that is irritating about the 3.7 drivetrain. This program corrects the goofy way the truck shifts. It corrects the "fall on it's face" when applying just a bit of acceleration on the expressway. It adds very noticeable torque in the low RPM range. My truck has 3:73 gears so the added torque is very nice. We'll see about the gas milage. My wife drives it mostly, so she may see a gain. If I drive it I am going to use the additional TQ and HP. I am very satisfied with this programmer! I have used Hypertech in the past on a 1998 Dakota 4x4 with a 318 in it. Hypertech REALLY woke that truck up.Cons: As always, The programmer does not come with the software for a modern vehicle. You immediately get the message "This programmer does not fit this vehicle. Check the part number before updating on the Internet!" So you have to load a driver off the CD and screw around with ambiguous instructions...

if you know to look for a hypertech programmer than you know what to expect ... i used to get 12-13 mpgs city and close to 18 highway and now im pushing 15 city and 21 highway ... this will pay for its self over time if you let it. you really notice an increase in power and torque... awesome how you can adjust the rev limiter and toy with factory settings ... if you have an 05-06 jeep grand cherokee 3.7l this is the only programmer to work for your rig .. well worth it

Plain and simple, I bought this for my 1994 Corvette. In doing research, I found that other Corvette owners either like it or hate it.I suppose it depends on what you want it to do for you. Will it turn your LT1 into a firebreathing drag racer? No. What I wanted is for the fans to come on much sooner to avoid hitting the 225 degree temps, and I wanted to firm up the shifts. I also added the custom engine tune. Did it do what I wanted? Yep, and I am happy with that!

This was installed on my 2009 2500HD 6.0L gas truck. Worked great to fine tune my speedo as I have larger that OEM tires on the truck. Gas mileage increased slightly 1 mile per gal. at best. There is no "throw you back in your seat" kindda power but I did notice that it can hold highway speeds better when towing a load. What I mean by that is there is less down shifting when going up hill so more torque is what I can notice. I would buy again if I had to do over. I did have to download a update via computer before I could program my truck so a little computer experience is needed, but not hard to do.

Bought this for my '03 Dodge 2500 4x4 diesel pickup. This was one of the cheaper units that both chipped the computer and would let me adjust speedo for taller tires. So far it appears that between the marginally taller tires and lowest setting that I am about 3 mpg better and with a noticible seat of the pants power increase. I haven't done a long road trip yet so will confirm at that time. Only minor complaint is the settings that adjust for tire size appear to be inaccurate. I run with a gps and know my speed against gps has always been dead on. When I went with taller tires I took note and also after added hypertech and adjusting for tire size. using the product manual's approach I was approx 3% off on both speed and odometer. I played with settings until they agreed within 0.5% with multiple gps readings. but the eventual settings were not even close to the settings using the hypertech recommended approach.

i really love this chip. it gives a very noticable increase in power and torque. however be aware that it calls for premium gas to be used with it.
