I can't quantify the quality of the filter but the old filter material just looked like a bit of spongy stuff. I reused the OEM gasket cuz that honkey is like a 1/4 thick and beefy rubber, I wouldn't bet the life of my car on a replacement gasket that is thinner and of a goofy nature.

Getting the right filter is not hard, but the 42RE has 3 options so I understand the confusion. I chose this one because I know it works, and is a little more robust than the others. The included gasket is "cork", just FYI.

This filter looks just like the OEM ACDelco filter installed at the factory. The included gasket is marked 'UltraCork' and appears to be an un-reinforced flat die-cut rubber gasket from a sheet of material. It installed and worked just fine, not sure why they made a goofy attempt to make it look cork'ish by mixing brown and black material into the sheet it was cut from. Its not like anyone is going to see it after it is installed. If you want a reinforced reusable gasket (molded) look for the ATP B-171 kit or Fil-Pro offerings.

Great filter replacement for my 2000 chevy v6 camaro however one diaclaimer. The filter is perfect.... But the pan gasket is horrible. Spend some money on one that isn't cork cause even with gasket maker around it, it's gonna leak and you'll loose all that new expensive transmission oil.

These are the best filters that money can buy. I did buy for a large vehicle fleet and this is the only brand of filters I will use. Most local auto parts stores stock cheaper transmission filters. Plan ahead and order before you need one and change the fluid every 25,000 miles.

Exact match to replace the filter in my 04 XC90 T6, which uses a GM transmission. Bought a pan gasket to go with it but threw it away because the original was reuseable and better made.

Good price, right size, not as easy as some to replace, but that is not the filter's fault. At least Toyota has drain plug.

excellent product. well constructed and packaged. includes filter and gasket: easy install. has nothing to do with filter kit but you will need a large container (e.g., wash tub) to drain/remove transmission pan.

I've already install this nice filter kit to my Ford Ranger XLT 2000 2WD automatic transmission, and all fits perfect. The filter kit include screen(made in china), with two rubber o-rings, rubber pan gasket, and two different length bolts(for different transmissions), with extended shim, all staff in orange cartoon box. Pan gasket holds good even without sealant. Overall quality and price is good.

Fits a 2000 Sienna. Gasket comes crumbled up in a small box. I just lay in out on a flat surface the day before so it stays flat on the oil pan. Filter screen fits like a glove. Will order again.

My review is simple and short... I don't think you can find a better quality transmission service filter kit than those made by FRAM, nor a better price than from AutoPartsWAY.com!

This package comes with a cork-based gasket and a well constructed filter. The filter is made in USA. When selecting between FRAM FT1167A and FT1167, select FT1167A as it is the newer model and comes with an improve gasket. For less than $20, it is good deal. AutoPartsWAY.com can improve on the packaging though, as the box came slightly bent.

I did my own auto transmission oil change for my 2001 Audi A6 with this filter kit. It comes with the filter, a filter gasket and the oil pan gasket. There is no instruction provided and the packing is minimum. But nevertheless, the item comes in good condition and serve the purpose. The most important part - the filter looks decent, not thick but is double ply so it should be able to do its job. The oil pan gasket is a paper gasket - kind of cheap but serves its purpose. The form and size of the filter fits my car and I have no problem changing it. In summary, I would say that it is a cheap solution to change your car's auto transmission oil and keep your car's transmission life longer. For less than $20 including shipping, it is hard to beat a FRAM.For your information, it was my first time changing the oil, thus I would say that as long as you has the Audi Servicing manual, you dont really need an instruction from FRAM.

My 1999 Ford Expedition with 103,000 miles on it started to have a transmission slip (going up hill), changed the filter with the FT1130A and 6 QT of Ford OEM transmittion fulid, now the tracks shifts great!
