- Upon installation of this alternator, check valve cover gaskets and timing chain cover gaskets for engine oil leaks. Ingestion of engine oil will destroy the alternator shortly after installation. If any oil leaks are present they need to be repaired prior to installing this alternator. This type of failure will void the Bosch Factory Warranty Terms and Agreements.
