Rather than simply work from concept vehicles and drawings, Borla RD engineers headed down under to the GM Holden facility in Australia to work directly with the GM Camaro team. The result of this exciting collaboration is a series of Cat-Back and Axle-Back exhaust systems, providing the ultimate in tuned performance, sound, style and fitment. Boryla's Camaro Cat-Back arsenal is led by an aggressive high-performance S-type system (PN140280) that utilizes patented XR-1 technology from Borla exhausts used in race-winning Corvettes and other GM champions. Drivers who prefer a more subdued sound will opt for (PN140281), a Touring version that combines a racing heart with a more stealth-like growl. Each of these Cat-Back options (including the V6 system) comes complete with a merge X-Pipe for increased flow and richer sound, and is also available as an Axle-Back system S-Type (PN11775), and Touring (PN11774). On top of the power, sound and looks, drivers also enjoy significant weight savings with a Borla exhaust, shedding as much as 43 lbs. over stock enough to make a difference at the pump and the track. Like all Borla exhaust products, the Camaro systems feature durable high-quality T-304 stainless steel construction, patented power when you want it, fuel economy when you need it technology, mirror-polished T-304 stainless steel tips and a Million-Mile Warranty. - This is BORLA'S complete Cat-Back system including a merge X-Pipe and ATAK mufflers for improved performance and great sound on the Camaro SS WITHOUT Ground Effects Package (GFX). System features polished T-304 stainless steel tips for a sharp appearance. BORLA has developed a revolutionary exhaust technology that enables our engineers to deliver unprecedented vehicle-specific control over the acoustical note of an exhaust throughout the RPM range, while retaining 100% of the power-adding capabilities of BORLA's patented multicore design. Called ATAK (Acoustically-Tuned Applied Kinetics), this technology produces the highest available dB (decibel) levels in the BORLA street-legal lineup, and is designed for high-performance purists who prefer exhaust notes over their stereos. The focus of ATAK is to pump the volume while retaining clarity of sound, avoiding distortion typically found in louder exhausts. With ATAK, the sound output is tuned like a graphic equalizer to shape and focus sound waves for optimum high-volume output. The development of each ATAK system begins with extensive study of each vehicle's acoustical properties. The technology is based on custom-tuned attributes of the internal muffler cores, which are calibrated on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis to deliver the most desirable sound.
