- A CURT custom wiring connector (sometimes called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURTs custom wiring connectors come into play. A custom wiring connector uses a single original equipment plug to plug into a special socket provided by your vehicle. Though this option is not available on every vehicle, some automotive manufacturers design their vehicles to be easily equipped for towing by supplying a socket, integrated into the vehicles electrical system, to readily accept a custom wiring connector. With a CURT custom wiring connector, there is no need to tap into the taillight assembly because a special socket is already provided. This special custom wiring connector actually provides two connector sockets for a multipurpose option. It plugs into an OEM connector and offers a 4-way flat and 7-way RV blade connector. It comes with a mounting bracket for easy installation and is designed to be a custom wiring option for a variety of vehicles (see application info to verify fitment). To make things even easier, this gooseneck hitch kit includes both the under-bed gooseneck hitch and the vehicle-specific installation brackets. The combined kit makes it simple to get your truck ready for towing by eliminating the need to purchase two different parts. It includes the #60619 gooseneck hitch and the #60660 installation brackets to fit certain years of the Ram or Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 (for a complete listing of compatibility, see the CURT application guide). Installation of the Double Lock EZr requires only one person, using retainer clips to keep bolts secure and the center section fully supported while mounting it into place. It also uses our patented center locator to eliminate meticulous measuring and ensure error-free drilling. The EZr also uses carriage bolts whenever possible for one-wrench tightening. Operation of the Double Lock EZr is simple and safe. It uses two locking pins and a 3/8 in. diameter handle to keep the gooseneck ball locked into the center section. The ball features a flip-over design that allows you to store it inside the receiver hole when not in use, keeping your truck bed completely free of obstructions. This particular set of gooseneck installation brackets is specifically designed to mount a CURT Double Lock EZr gooseneck hitch on certain years of the Ram and Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). It features a laser-cut construction for a precise fit and is rated to the vehicles maximum gross trailer weight capacity. With each gooseneck installation bracket sub kit, we provide the necessary hardware for an easier installation, and we coat our gooseneck brackets in a liquid Bonderite coating to make sure rust and other potential damages are not a problem.
