Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Dodge Caravan, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 4,000 lbs. WD and 400 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2 in. receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid Bonderite and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Chrysler PT Cruiser (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4 in. receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid Bonderite, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.

- When a custom hitch is not available for your vehicle, CURT offers the multi-fit hitch. Designed to be the ultimate in versatility, CURT universal trailer hitches fit several different vehicle manufacturers, including Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Nissan, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac and Toyota. The multi-fit hitch is a universally designed alternative to our custom hitches. It provides a more affordable option and flexibility in installation. Very simply, a CURT multi-fit trailer hitch uses a sliding or adjustable frame to match the width of your vehicles frame. In general, multi-fit hitches are used on mid-size and full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. This class 2 multi-fit trailer hitch features a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs., a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. and a 1-1/4 in. x 1-1/4 in. receiver tube opening, making it an excellent choice for towing smaller utility trailers, boat trailers and popup campers, as well as cargo carriers and bike racks (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component).
