- Because of the position of these injectors in relation to the fuel rail, extreme care should be taken during installation so as not to damage the seal rings. Problems with new injectors immediately after installation are almost always due to improper installation which can ruin the seal rings. Always inspect the seal ring for damage before considering the injector itself to be defective. This Standard Motor Products injector can be used to replace an OE injector with either a blue mark or a black mark.
