Aluminum construction makes them completely impervious to rust, and for an extra layer of corrosion protection, they come with a durable semi-gloss black powder coat finish. They are also available in polished 304 stainless steel. To protect the interior of the tubes, all 6 in. oval sides are equipped with hard ABS plastic end caps. The end caps come pre-attached to the tubes and feature a tapered design, lending to the overall OE look of the side bars and providing a professional finishing touch on your truck or SUV. For a sure step every time you climb into your vehicle, ARIES 6 in. ovals are equipped with extra-wide step pads. The step pads are made from tough polypropylene and provide a generous 5 in. width. Made from 5-1/2 in. wide, eight-sided, extruded aluminum tubing, AdvantEDGE running boards are strong, lightweight and impervious to rust, offering a solid step that is built to face the elements and outlast them. They also come with die-cast aluminum end caps and a stamped aluminum tread. The aluminum treads provide a long-lasting, non-skid stepping surface that will not crack or fade in the sun. ARIES AdvantEDGE side bars are also marked for their easy, custom-fit installation. They feature the ARIES VersaTrac mounting system with brackets that are made from powder-coated steel and built for specific vehicles. This particular set of custom running boards fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado, Avalanche, Tahoe or Suburban and GMC Sierra or Yukon (see application info to verify compatibility). The high-strength steel brackets mount using pre-existing holes, and the aluminum running boards attach to the brackets with heavy-duty hardware. The VersaTrac mounting system makes installation simple and customizable, allowing the side bars to be swapped out at any time with other side steps or running boards that use the VersaTrac system.
